About My Books

Wizards, Warlocks and Magicians

Harry Potter has nothing on these real wizards, warlocks and magicians who wielded immense magical powers and performed amazing spells. Magicians who could- – change the weather, – those who healed the sick, – raised the dead, – made gold out of other metals, – could be in two places at once, – make fire with their will power, – levitate, – have seemingly endless lives and never age. The book contains chapters on the following magicians – Apollonius of Tyana –Wizard, Wanderer & Sage Simon Magus – The Pretender Messiah Michael Scot – The Great Scottish Wizard Nicholas Flamel and the Book of Abraham the Jew Paracelsus and the Beginnings of Science Henry Cornelius Agrippa – The Occult Philosopher John Dee & Edward Kelly – Elizabethan Magical Adventurers Sir

Love Me or Hate Me?

The first review for How To Create Your Own Reality is up… Yes – its a 1-star review that says as its title ‘Awful’. I had to laugh. Hopefully, that won’t turn out to be the majority decision….. I found myself remarking to a friend after seeing the review – ‘why me?’ The reason is that I seem to polarize my audience. Not for me are a bunch of 3 and 4 star ratings…. I seem to get a lot of 5-stars and a few 1-stars with not much in the middle. So my conclusion is that people either love or hate my work. This perception prompted the PhD in me to do some quick analysis….. Well, I was wrong…… its actually a nicely skewed distribution towards 5-stars across 111

How Different Are People

If you needed a reminder of just how different people are take a look at any book on Amazon with a number of reviews – even Shakespeare’s sonnets. There you will find the entire gamut of people’s perceptions as reviews. The Last Observer, my paranormal novella, has quite a lot of reviews as well and I was just going through them on Amazon and Goodreads to see what people thought. There are 25 reviews on Amazon.com and it has an average of 4.4 out of five which I will happily take all day. The book has 17 5-star reviews, 4 four-star, 2 3-star and 2 one-star reviews and no two-star reviews as yet. But consider some of the comments…. We have this on the one hand – “This book was

Shhhhh – Let me Tell You A Secret (Don’t tell anyone)

Imagine. Imagine if with a few words and an attitude you could manifest whatever you wanted in your life? What would you ask for? Think of that a different way. There you are polishing the silverware and suddenly, a genie appears. He grants you three wishes. What would they be? Now, let us complicate this scenario. Let’s imagine that rather than ask you for the three wishes, the genie reads your mind and delivers on your first three thoughts. How might that go? “Oh….. I want a big fast car, er, wait, no, I would like to be rich, stop, wait, maybe just happy…..” I would think that most folk would end up very disappointed with the result of their wishes and the genie might very well be extremely confused

How To Create Your Own Reality

The book is taking shape and will be released on May 14th, 2015. The Kindle cover is ready. The website is being built and I will also probably take a crack at a video as well. As many of you know, I think we create our own reality via the way we think, act and how well we break free of the ingrained thought processes that we are given growing up. Magic is a process by which we learn to gain control of our lives – our reality – and truly live. The book is quite short but I believe it will be very effective. I will go so far as to say that it may change a few lives. Mark your diaries for May 14th and grab your copy.

Artful Words of Science

The Art of Science is my last book of poetry published earlier this year and I happen to believe it is my best so far….. It is full of angst, insights and ideas about life, reality and it all. My poetry is fluid wordplay using words to create feelings and conjure pictures of how I see things. All my poetry books are available on Kindle and in paperback format… Enjoy this sample from The Art of Science called Getting Older. I once thought that I would last forever Had no concerns at all Burned the candles at both ends And in the middle too But there came a time when I suddenly understood Time, was moving quickly on Everyone looks older But not necessarily wiser Certain songs are sung memories

A Hopelessly Addicted Scribbler

Yesterday, I received an email from one of my readers. He had just read my latest Kindle book and was giving me some feedback. However, he was also asking a question – When will you finish the sequel to The Last Observer? That is a good question actually…. You see, I am an addicted scribbler. I get ideas for books all of the time and off I go pursuing it. Right now, I am working on two ideas simultaneously. One is too early to divulge but it will be a Kindle short ghost stories book – but different! The other came to me last night as I read old blog posts and it is actually almost finished already. I just need to edit, organize and add a bit to it…

13 Magicians

Whether you believe in real magic – spelt magick usually to differentiate from sleight of hand and trickery – or not, history is full of people who did and who were believed to be great magicians. Apollonius of Tyana, for example, who was born just a little before Jesus and spurned a life of luxury and wealth to follow in the footsteps of Pythagoras. Amongst other tales, Apollonius is said to have found the philosopher’s stone and gained eternal life. Then there is that character from the bible that we were all told was evil growing up – Simon Magus. Poor Simon! Simon does appear to have been capable of working miracles – actually not unlike those that Jesus did. But, he was seen as a threat to the early

Do You Believe in Magic?

An angel instructs a 14th Century magician to wife swap? A man that lives forever having discovered the secret of immortality? A man who can project fire from his belly and water to put out the fire? A 14-year old who already had three degrees and spoke five languages in the 15th Century? An English artist who painted spirits with his eyes closed? An alchemist who wrote the laws of physics? A man who paralysed his Nazi guards with a spoken word? A man who could levitate and fortell the future? All of the above are historical people. They were Wizards, Warlocks and Magicians. They practiced alchemy and natural Magic. One was an ordinaed member of the church as well. They discovered the secret knowledge and sometimes, they wrote about
