About My Books

The Supernatural Czech Republic

I just issued a new book on Kindle and shortly to be a paperback too. It is called The Czech Republic – The Most Haunted Country in the World? It’s definitely a good choice for a Halloween read… Here are a few abridged stories from it…. The Devil’s Bible A few years ago, I had the opportunity to see this strange document first hand, as it was on display outside of Brno. In fact, what I saw was a copy of the original. Nonetheless, the effect was chilling. The Devil’s Bible or Codex Gigas is 36inches tall by 20 inches wide and about 9 inches thick. It contains a set of Christian texts including the Bible. It is bound in leather with metal trim and weighs over 165 pounds. It

The Ghosts of The Czech Republic

My new book – The Czech Republic – The Most Haunted Country in the World – was released yesterday in Kindle format. There was a slight snafu and I had to remove the photos unfortunately but it is now out. The paperback version is in progress and it WILL include my photos….. An audiobook version is planned though it might be me doing the reading as there are too many Czech words and locations in the book for someone unfamiliar with the language to pronounce…. (and listening to GPS instructions from an English voice mispronouncing everything has put me off not getting it right for life…) The book is a mixture of myths, tales, legends, ghost stories, haunted locations and scary places. It should make for a good Halloween read

The Czech Republic – Is it the Most Haunted Country in the World?

Probably in my opinion…. Having lived here 10-years, it definitely has an undercurrent of myth, legend, and the strange. So it should be no surprise that on October 1st, my new book will be out in an attempt to try to prove it! Take a look. You can even pre-order it in Kindle format!

It Is Time For Amazon to Get Tough On Spoof Negative Reviews

I can only assume that someone somewhere doesn’t like me or any modicum of small success that I may have with my books. I say this because I have a string of 1-star reviews on Amazon UK that suddenly popped up across several of my books in a short period. Each is by ‘Amazon Customer’. Each Amazon Customer has done exactly one review – my book. Each review is unverified meaning they didn’t buy the book on Amazon – so where then? They are only available on Amazon! Each has a comment ranging from ‘Shite’ to something about poor editing. Some of these reviews were posted by someone who hasn’t read the book as the comment specifics bear no relationship to the content of the book. Perhaps, you can buy

What I Like About Audio Book Publishing

Yesterday, I reached a new milestone with just over 700 audiobooks sold in the 12-months since I launched the first. There is an audience for audiobooks and it is a bit different to the ebook and paperback audience. Today, another book from my back catalog became available as an audiobook – My Haunted Life 3 – and several more are in production including the Extreme edition of the My Haunted Life series, The Last Observer and my latest Kindle book – The Black Eyed Kids. The monthly sales royalties for audiobooks also have helped move my earnings into reasonable territory. I can now safely say that my royalties exceed $6000pa from all sources and growing. Audiobooks have been a large part of that. Audiobooks are fun to put together too.

The Hexagram

I’m unsure how many people may have read the book The Mystical Hexagram by myself and Sue Vincent, but I am sure its less than 100. Even I will describe the book as a strange tome but packed with magical information. The book came about as a result of my utter obsession with this occult symbol. While I was finishing the Servants of the Light first degree course, I kept on seeing the symbol in meditation. The inner contact that I had developed kept leaving me with tantalizing scraps of wisdom about it too. I found myself doodling hexagrams and pondering the correspondences of it. I recall one weekend retreat led by Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki in which I showed her this huge diagram of the symbol and everything I could possibly

Investigating the Black Eyed Kids

I run a site called My Haunted Life Too in which people submit their own true experiences of the paranormal. Recently, I received a story about Black Eyed Kids. I posted the story and traffic to the website grew tenfold overnight. It seems I wasn’t the only one creeped out by the story as it went viral on social media; shared and shared again. Then, story after story started to flood in about BEK and Black Eyed People. Many of these encounters seemed to follow a well-worn and similar format to the first submission. Here is that first submission. A few months ago, I visited my mother in Amarillo. She lives in a nice area that has a good reputation. I was expecting to have a nice vacation and spend

Fake Reviews

Reviews, I often say, are important. I encourage reviews – even bad ones. However…. Yesterday, I happened to be on amazon and noticed a new review for my latest little ghost story book. Two stars and the text ‘Rubbish’. Yes – that was it. I clicked on the reviewers id and discovered that in one day the ‘reviewer’ had reviewed tens of Kindle books in the supernatural category. Several of mine and many of other authors in the genre. There was an intriguing pattern too. Book upon book by me and others all given one or two star reviews with a single comment – Rubbish. However, one author in the genre was the exception. All of his books were 5-star and marked excellent. Some, but not all, were also ‘verified

Audio, Audio

As a writer who publishes his own books, any way to get to an audience and make additional sales is of value. About 6-months ago I thought I would have a shot at audiobooks via ACX – Amazon’s audiobook platform. Today, I sold my 500th audiobook! I am reaching a different audience using the audiobook as well and I do think that is helping book sales generally. I am on for a record year and currently have 4 books in the UK supernatural top 50 including an audio book! The ACX program is a bit rigid but it is quite easy to navigate. Firstly, you sign up for your account and then you identify your books – those you want to create audiobooks with anyway. Then, you look for a

The Last Observer Revisited

The Last Observer – my foray into the novel or rather novella. A story in which I tried to explore the idea that nothing exists unless it is observed by a sentient consciousness. My hero, Stanley, was a man who read anything and everything in so doing, developed his imaginative faculties to such a degree that he in essence became a magician, able to create reality simply by imagining it although he didn’t know it. He was inadvertently dragged into a plot to reimagine the world by a group of evil magicians and was rescued by the hero – Edward. I re-read it recently and I still think its a quite good and certainly worthy of a read. I have also been working on a follow up on and off
