Finding Middle Ground

These days I see increasing polarization of views. As I have said many times before, you only have to go to any news or political site and check out the comments and discussions – it isn’t discussion, it’s angry, opinionated people dissing each other. I even wrote an article that I am sure raised some eyebrows and maybe lost me a few ‘friends’ called New Age Socialists – I realized afterwards it should probably have been called New Age Fascists but never mind. The fact is that people seem to hold and even gravitate to more and more extreme views and more and more despise others for holding the opposite viewpoint. STOP ALREADY! Over the last 10-years or so I have been taught to reconcile the opposites. I have delved

Sword of Destiny

There is a day every author enjoys more then others and that day is when you finally hold in your hands the product of your long and loving labour…. the book! Yesterday was the day this happened for my friend and co-author of The Mystical Hexagram – Sue Vincent. I know that Sue had worked long and hard on her novel – Sword of Destiny – and the result is now available to share with everyone. Sue asked me to read and review the novel a few months ago and I was honored to do so. In Sword of Destiny, Sue has written a beautifully magical story set in her beloved Yorkshire. Each of the main characters in her story experiences personal growth through a sharing a thrilling and magical

Bubbles within bubbles, wheels within wheels , we are each a universe , complete with our own planet earth and surrounding cosmos. I call it My Virtual Reality Sphere . When I look up into the sky and see all the stars , I “know” they are within me, there is no out there , I know that if I want to reach out and touch the stars I can , they are no different than the trillions of cells in my body , they are part of ” Me”. You know the old saying ” You Think The Universe Revolves Around You ” well its true , the universe does revolve around you , we are each encapsulated so to speak in our own private Spherical Mirror , and

The Shock and Horror Show

As I have said before, the problem with the internet is that it is very difficult to get at the truth. The internet is such a wonderful forum for posting opinion and your version of the truth that, on any single issue, one can find articles from every side – all believable until you do your critical research. Bu who has time for that? No one does critical research. Instead, they seek confirmation of what they already believe to be truth. Everywhere I see lazy shock and horror stories. Its today’s fad. I just read how the price of oil is no longer set by fundamentals but by the big oil companies and the big banks who manipulate futures. I read this on Huffington Post. Its a crock of course.

Presidential Myth Making

Those that know me also know that one subject and one subject alone can get me truly very angry. That subject is the idea that man-made CO2 is responsible for ‘global warming’ and today I am very mad because Mr. Obama, presumably to detract attention away from his complete mismanagement of Government and everything else, has decided to jump on the bandwagon. I’m sorry to my friends and eldest son who love this man, but he is to me the worst President the US ever had simply because he doesn’t appear to actually stand for anything except himself and now – the myth of global warming. People – global temperatures haven’t risen in the last 15-years. I’m not going to get into all the arguments because frankly I have made

Recurring Dreams

I have always had recurring dreams. Sometimes, its the same dream but most often I recognize the place in my dream and expand upon it. In the latter, I guess I can also be lucid. Most of my recurring dreams involve houses – huge houses. There are always rooms in those houses that I really like but I never use and in the dream, I am exploring these rooms with a sense of wonderment. I suppose, this is really a self exploration and these unused rooms are perhaps areas of myself that I do not give sufficient attention to. I also have another recurring dream about places. Usually, this involves tunnels and streets and I am lost. I know I am not far from home but I can’t actually get

My Best Selling Book

I think people outside of the book publishing and writing business have little clue as to how it really works. I am going to tell you all what my best selling book is…. (drum roll)….. Here it is…. Yes – it’s one of my business books. It has sold to date some 905 copies. Patrick and I are very pleased with its sales and the fact that it continues to sell every month. My second best selling book is it’s companion – Trends in ETRM Software: A Primer with 670 sales and still selling. Not far behind is Inner Journeys: Explorations of the Soul from Thoth. I have a target for my new book – The Last Observer. It’s a real stretch. I’d like it to sell 3000 copies. The

Weird Tales

Many moons ago I published my second book – Weird Tales: Otherworld Poetry. I self-published via the Amazon publisher Booksurge. Its a small book and it has barely sold more than 30 copies I reckon but then it is a poetry book! You see, everyone writes poetry and many of us also think our poems are the bees knees – me included! I have learned since 2006, when it was published, that poetry doesn’t sell very well. I think its because the poems that we write are personal. They have real meaning to us but perhaps not to others. Poems are our way to resolve pain, say what we truly feel and get our emotions on paper. There are words I could use to tell you Exactly how I feel

The Last Observer Available for Pre-Order

I accidentally just discovered that my new novel is available for pre-order on all Amazon sites. For me this is quite exciting as, for the first time, the product of love, sweat and tears, is available albeit in August….. Check out the Amazon page on the UK website and you can actually look inside the book. You can also ‘like’ the book’s facebook page and stay up to date with developments there. You can also take a peek at the promo video I made; Or, better still, pre-order it. You won’t regret it. Its a good yarn.
