Fun Mapping energy Lines

I’m busy in my spare time at the moment mapping energy lines on Špilberk Castle. This is the Castle above my apartment that I have written about before. I took my rods out and walked around the Castle one day last week.   Initially, I was trying to use Google maps and failed miserably.  Then I discovered that there is an app for that!! Really! It’s called Dowsing Mapper it is available for the iPhone and Android. It even has its own webpage and youtube video use instructions. It doesn’t take long to learn to use and is actually very easy to work with. I was amazed that such an app existed to be honest but I expect to be using it a lot from now on. Using GPS and

Sowing Warmth – By Sue Vincent

This post by my very good friend, Sue Vincent, really had me thinking this morning and seems very apt for a Sunday post… If you enjoy it please pop over to her blog and catch a few more insightful thoughts from Sue and her friends…   There was a road closure on the way to work, so, to avoid the build-up of traffic, I took to the back streets, wending my way through a residential area and passing the house in which we had first lived when we moved south. To let oncoming cars pass, I pulled to one side, almost outside our old home, and was able to see what had become of my garden. It had been a blank canvas when we had moved in, with nothing but

Looking for Templars by Brno

Another term I had never entered into Google along with my location was ‘Templar’. Imagine my surprise and delight to find yet again that the Templars had been located very close to Brno! Apparently, the Templars entered Bohemia in 1231 during the reign of King Wenceslas 1 (Yes – the one who looked out on the feast of Stephen!) first establishing ‘Jerusalem’ in Prague.  Later, by 1248, they had established themselves in Moravia at Čekovice near Brno and by 1250 at Jamolice also near to Brno. How did I never know this? At the earliest opportunity, I was off to visit one of the sites – I chose Jamolice as it happens and the ruins of the Templar Castle – Templstejn. Unfortunately, I didn’t have too much time and was

More Moravian Dragons…

I am posting these as much for me at this point – to have them stored some place for future reference….. Often, the article is translated by Google which is why it sounds a bit odd but Google still translates Czech better than I! The Nakla Dragon There are many legends linked to Nákl, one of which mentions a dragon. between Nákl and Mezice. In the hillside there was a “Deep Pit” caused by rumors of weather: In a hillside stretching from Nákl to Mezice, a deep pit opened once after a storm and rain. Strange remains of an unknown creature were found here. People thought it was a dragon’s skeleton. However, there was another landslide and thus the gorge was covered. It is said that there were more dragon skeletons in the pit. the second

Ghosts, Reality and Long-Leggety Beasties

My summer cold of course decided to move into to my larynx and set up shop resulting in the last few days feeling distinctly unwell. The antibiotics are now kicking in and I’m recovering nicely. Meanwhile, I launched a new ghost and paranormal website at My Haunted Life Too. Why I did so I don’t really know as there are more than enough such sites around already but actually, I did it because I enjoy the stories and because I could. I do hope that over time, it will blossom into a real presence on the paranormal side of the web. Meanwhile, I am hard at work on my last book for a little while. Another ghost story book actually but I will say no more until it is out.

Symbols of the Goddess

Over the last few years, I have increasingly enjoyed getting into nature. I am also rekindling my interest in geology and these days enjoy nothing better than getting out into the wild with my hammer. There is a magic about certain places that I have noticed more and more recently. You can sense the nature spirits and of course, the Goddess herself in such places. I have always enjoyed solitude in nature and once spent an entire 6-weeks geologically mapping the island of Eigg off the west coast of Scotland where, for days and weeks at a time, I didn’t see another human. I found that I began to have all sorts of spiritual experiences there including hearing angelic singing and seeing certain things from the other realms (Some of

The Only Constant is Change

“Everything changes and nothing stands still” Herakleitos; c. 535 BC – 475 BC I just left another Facebook group called Mystic Development. This week, I have probably bailed out of 6 or 7 groups even including the fan page for Hull City AFC. The reason is, and call me what you will for saying this, the stupidity of some people is giving me blood pressure problems. Yes, I know I am supposed to be nice and not call people stupid and such but sometimes you just have to call a spade a spade and have done with it. There is no malice intended. The social media has given everyone an equal platform to talk, let off steam, lecture and give their opinion. It really shows too. The problem is that few

Your Life is One Big Lie

One of the central themes of all my writings – even the My Haunted Life series – is the nature of reality and the role that we may play in dictating that. Over the last twenty or so years (if not my entire life really), I have read, meditated on, studied and discussed this topic and the process I have come to several conclusions. One of these is that I now believe that much of our world is an illusion. It’s easy to draw analogies with movies like the Matrix here and I and others often do but what I mean is a lot of what we think we know isn’t real. It isn’t truth nor fact. I once said (and thought it was rather cute) – “The more I
