Myth Making

I am no conspiracy theorist. I think that what things seem to be are mostly how they are. In my experience, if something can be cocked up and, humans are involved, then it will be thoroughly cocked up. In other words, people that see deliberate acts of conspiracy are often really seeing cock ups with no intention or pattern behind them. That’s my view anyway. People who follow conspiracy theories begin to create a reality in which everything is a conspiracy. They believe, they see and they make it so in their created world. So it is with certain other topics. I no longer pay much attention to the news because, as I said yesterday, media is stupid, manipulated or both. Everyone has an agenda and the aim of that

Reality – Imagined for Free

Here is a poem from my forthcoming book – Astral Messages. It will be published in the Fall after The Last Observer…. Silence is an innaccurate word Loud, it is full of strangeness Listen, for there you find infinity Otherworld’s sounds purred back to us Sight is certainly not to see Filled with images though it may be In fact, there are multitudes of otherworld’s paralleled stacked awaiting Open your senses Imagine and see Open your inner eye Imagine and be Fantasy is fantastical you see Truth fleeting hovers and flits there Grasp it by the toe and we’ll agree Reality is unlimited and imagined for free

The Big Questions

There are moments when I wonder what this is all about. By this, I mean life. I woke up this morning and brought with me into waking consciousness something of my dreamworld. A feeling that I am only dreaming. That this is simply not real. Its a feeling I often get and have had since being a kid. Its this feeling that created and supported my interest in the occult and magic. I’m sorry but I can’t imagine dying and that’s the end of it. What would be the point of that? Why would all of this exist just for us to die? Yes, you could argue that I have a touch too much ego to think myself or ourselves worthy of anything but a blink of reality but I

The Cycle of Life

At this time of the year I am struck by the colours of spring. The lush greens of the grass and trees with new leaves and then the dustings of purple, yellow, pink, and white of wild flowers and of the blossoms. It is as if the world has been created anew and it is wonderous. Everything is in its youth or infancy in the cycle of the year. The vitality and the strength of the life force is there and is both plain to be seen but can also be felt. The days of course, are getting longer and more light-filled and the air is warmer. Spring has sprung. As I think about the endless cycle of birth and death – the orouboros of life – the eternal return,

The Last Observer – Getting Closer to Reality

My novel now has a full cover including the following text on the back of the book… The Last Observer is a compelling tale of magic, alternative realities, murder and conflict. An ordinary man is abruptly dragged into the middle of a violent struggle between black and white magicians who both seek to use his extraordinary powers of imagination and observation. He soon learns that reality is not at all what it seems before being called upon to play a decisive role in determining whose reality will prevail. “Dennis Wheatley brought up to date with a liberal spicing of speculation about the nature of reality, quantum physics and parallel worlds. …. Highly recommended” – Herbie Brennan, New York Times best-selling author of Whisperers: The Secret History of the Spirit World.

Imagineering

Some days, I don’t wish to do anything I would just like to sit and stare A lazybones Awake, but asleep to this world Wakeful dreaming Creating in my head No need for people Me and me alone Crowded by thoughts And memories of times gone by Begging to question why? If I could change it Would it mean anything? Would my now be any different Would I have learned anything? Pondering the future There’s that feeling again So strong, so strange It’s only me this thing No you or them, just me Everything and nothing Cycle, no end nor beginning Eternally now Me Imagineering

The Measurement Problem

As a small boy, I recall quite often thinking and imagining that in reality, I was sat on a chair in a small room looking at a TV screen and controlling myself through a set of knobs and levers in front to me. In this dreamlike imagining, there were rows upon rows of these small rooms or booths each with an occupant managing their virtual life. Remember, I was thinking and dreaming this in the mid 1960’s before color TVs, computers, virtual reality and The Matrix movie. I mentioned this also in Inner Journeys: Explorations of the Soul. Additionally, at that age, I had not widely read any books and quite honestly, other than Watch with Mother, I hadn’t seen much TV either (in black and white on a box-like

Reality….

As I have continued to ponder reality I came across this article. I don’t entirely agree with some of it but I think his analogies are wonderful and, since I don’t think I could quite do as good a job, I am posting it here. It came from a blog called The Cleaver by Neil Kramer. Unfortunately that site has gone and has been replaced by a much more commercial website at neilkramer.com. Since I am fully attributing it, I hope he doesn’t mind me borrowing it! Here it is in full…. Unplugging The Matrix: Generate Your Own Reality Sooner or later the intelligent human mind realizes that reality is an illusion. This operates on many levels: perceptual, historical, political, molecular, spiritual. Depending on knowledge, circumstances and belief system –
