Dead Porn Stars and Facebook

I maintain a facebook account and if anyone wants to friend me, I am OK with that… I assume they read my books or somehow know me. Just recently though, I have been inundated with lots of friend requests from really sexy looking young women. As usual, I just said Ok and carried on. But these new friends appeared insistent upon talking to me. Well, I’m not averse to talking to nice looking young women – or anyone for that matter, so I chatted back. The first strange thing I noted was that each of these women seemed to have very bad luck. One told me she was raped and now has an 11-year son from that who she is raising by herself. Her mother died in childbirth and her

Why a Flat Earth Bothers Me

The internet these days is full of flat Earthers it seems attempting to wake us up to the biggest lie ever perpetrated on humanity. Some of these people are conspiracy theory junkies, others are religious people who literally believe the Bible. However, many seem to be bright individuals who started thinking about the problem and came to the conclusion that the Earth is flat. Once you get to that point then everything is a big lie. NASA, Science, Scientists, Teachers, Astronauts…. everything is cock and bull story. The Moon landings must be a hoax is the next step. Anything that disproves a flat Earth is a part of the cover up, conspiracy, lies….. I have given the flat Earth theory some thought as well. I fly a lot. I see

Amazing Coincidence

This last weekend, we went to a fairly remote location north of Prague for some hiking and sight seeing. On the Sunday, we were trying to decide where to stop for lunch. Initially, we stopped at a pub that looked quite nice but we were put off by the interior and so we set off again. A few minutes later, we saw another place that looked OK so we pulled in. Parking was a bit of an issue as the place seemed quite popular. We had our lunch and then we walked around and up the hill a little, taking in the pretty hillside cottages and the view. Then, we walked around the back of the pub/restaurant, got in the car and, after a quick chat and change of plan,

Time and The Dream

Last night I had one of those dreams that has you questioning everything. The alarm went off and I woke up. On waking, I recalled that I had just been dreaming and that the dream had been about setting the alarm. Now at first sight, this perhaps isn’t so puzzling but, when you think a bit deeper about it it most certainly is. I woke up as the alarm started to sound yet in the prior moments, I was dreaming about setting that very alarm. Exactly how does that work? Could it be that future events create our past and this is some type of evidence of it? Was the dream experienced as the alarm went off and only seemed to take place before it woke me up? Did I

Sometimes, You Have to Wonder….

This weekend, I was in Dolni Morava. There is a ski resort of sorts there…. I wasn’t skiing so for a couple of hours or so, I was left to wander around. It was pretty chilly and so I ended up in the restaurant which was packed. I ordered my self a hot chocolate in Czech after waiting my turn. The man, a tall and thin guy, looked at me as if I were and alien. I repeated myself. “Deutsche,” he said. A bit puzzled, I repeated my request in Czech. After all, its not a difficult sentence – “Horka chocolada prosim”. The man looked quite angry – “Deutsche” he said again. “English?” I asked. He repeated, almost spat “Deutsche”. The waitress beside of him looked quite shocked at this

Donald Trump’s Hair

I think what Donald Trump needs is a good haircut. I know that his current ‘do’ is iconic and sort of his trademark, but seriously, a new style would really help him out. To me, he emulates Yorkshire’s own Arthur Scargill and he was an utter failure too who never understood that his hair was the real issue standing in his way to power. You see, hair is important. Donald obviously has understood this and perhaps believes that it represents his strength and manliness: a bit like that guy in the old testament. Perhaps he thinks that if he has it cut shorter, it will somehow stunt his manhood? I reckon, Donald would look good in a mohican or perhaps a Kojak styling? He could even go so far as

Finally Free

Looking for the solution Another compromise Your way or the highway Shake my head in dismay Tied up in writhing knots Like a ball of slithering worms So much activity, so little to gain It all remains exactly the same Diversity and opinions We never think the same Differences exploited Eternally disappointed It’s such an easy game Everyone’s so gullible To easy to divide Playing upon our personal pride The writhing will continue Jostling, bustling and finger pointing Shit rises slowly to the top Extracting every stinking drop Maybe the answer is plain to see Stop fighting and struggling Just stop and let it be Be finally and utterly free

Memories of Another Me?

There are moments when I am overwhelmed with a strange feeling. It’s as if I remember events or things or perhaps hints of events or things that never actually happened. Sometimes, it’s like an ache yearning for something that seems lost or unclear. The feeling that there is something strange about things is a part of this sensation. Bizarre? To be honest, I think it is this feeling that I had as a child that lead me to imagine that I was not really here at all but instead I was sat in a small room hooked up to a machine through which I experienced a virtual life knowing that outside my room was an endless corridor of such rooms…. The feeling sometimes is so strong that I am sad

How Different Are People

If you needed a reminder of just how different people are take a look at any book on Amazon with a number of reviews – even Shakespeare’s sonnets. There you will find the entire gamut of people’s perceptions as reviews. The Last Observer, my paranormal novella, has quite a lot of reviews as well and I was just going through them on Amazon and Goodreads to see what people thought. There are 25 reviews on Amazon.com and it has an average of 4.4 out of five which I will happily take all day. The book has 17 5-star reviews, 4 four-star, 2 3-star and 2 one-star reviews and no two-star reviews as yet. But consider some of the comments…. We have this on the one hand – “This book was
