Who Am I?
Good question. Funny thing is that I have spent years trying to figure this out. I have met different parts of my psyche in meditation and for a while, I thought I knew who I was – warts and all – or probably better put as Mr. Angry and the others. But, you know, that isn’t who I am. Nope. It’s who I thought I was. Actually, I now know I haven’t got a clue who I am. When you live with someone – a wife or a partner – for 30 odd years, you become someone else. Then when suddenly, after all that time with a special someone in your life (or a special two someones over that 30 odd years), you find your self single. Then, you look

I remember very well the adrenalin rush I felt on hearing God Save the Queen by the Pistols. I also recall being disgusted by their behavior when interviewed on TV and yet, I was also enthralled and fascinated. The music establishment was crumbling under the assault by The Clash, Sex Pistols, and many more like them. It was shocking fashion, shocking talk and shocking and outrageous behavior. A kick in the face to all the nice people with their nice cosy lives and boring bale existences…. It was fun while it lasted. Eventually, the status quo prevailed. Punk became the new romantics, The Police and well, mainstream again. Looking back, it was a rush, exciting, but just a back alley. We grew up. We became part of the system we

I run a site called My Haunted Life Too in which people submit their own true experiences of the paranormal. Recently, I received a story about Black Eyed Kids. I posted the story and traffic to the website grew tenfold overnight. It seems I wasn’t the only one creeped out by the story as it went viral on social media; shared and shared again. Then, story after story started to flood in about BEK and Black Eyed People. Many of these encounters seemed to follow a well-worn and similar format to the first submission. Here is that first submission. A few months ago, I visited my mother in Amarillo. She lives in a nice area that has a good reputation. I was expecting to have a nice vacation and spend

In recent months I have been dreaming a lot. Dreams that go on and on even allowing for a bathroom break. Today I noted that this type of dreaming always seems to occur in periods of realization for me. I haven’t properly meditated in months and I have been thrashing around like a beached whale unable to act on anything. I marked this down perhaps to depression and periodically talked myself into starting again. However, each new initiative was short lived. Then a couple of nights ago I saw a movie on TV. It made me realize that all too often I look outside for answers that actually are to be found inside. Suddenly, a rush of realizations came to me. One was that I already know what I need

Sometime back in the 1980’s, I watched a late night movie on TV called The Rise and Rise of Michael Rimmer. I was awestruck by it and never forgot the plot or the name of the movie. It’s a shame that more people haven’t seen the movie really especially now post-BREXIT referendum. It has coloured my thinking ever since I saw it including my deep suspicion of politicians and their referendums. The movie is a brilliant satirical look at politics in the 1970’s in Britain. Written by Peter Cook, John Cleese, Graham Chapman and Kevin Billington the film follows the Mr. Michael Rimmer as he rises to become de facto President of Britain. It is utterly brilliant. It can now be seen in its entirety on youtube and I really

It is very busy round here….. Yes, indeed! First, I decided to change the name and cover of one of my Kindle books. Wizards, Warlock’s and Magicians is now God’s Pretenders – Incredible True Tales of Magic and Alchemy and the cover now looks like this, Although the book has had a steady trickle of sales, we decided that maybe we would experiment a bit…. to see if it has any impact at all. Next, both the Art of Science and My Haunted Life Too are nearing completion as audio books. I am particularly excited about My Haunted Life Too as the producer is sensational – let’s just say that I get the chills listening to the stories read by him! The Art of Science will make it first I think

Everyone knows who Harry Potter is. Harry is inescapably the most well-known magician on the planet and yet he is (hide your eyes if sensitive….) – fictional. Many people would probably laugh at any assertion that magic is real and that there are and always have been magicians in the world. Most people would believe magic to be sleight of hand and stage trickery at best and at worst just nonsense that you read about or see on TV. I just wish these same people would read my latest book….. Wizards, Warlocks and Magicians – Incredible True Stories of Magic and Sorcery. Magicians are real. Magic is real. Both magic and magicians however may not quite be what you think. Magic is about changing things at will. In order to

Imagination these days is undervalued. Kids no longer really need to exercise their imaginative faculties as it’s all laid on a plate for them in video games, movies that leave nothing to the imagination and TV. Yes, we had movies and TV growing up to but they still needed the support of an imagination. Our TV was in black and white until I was in my early teens and so you had to fill in the missing details for yourself. Special effects were pretty naff too and required imagination. Rather than play video games, I read books – a powerful tool to enhance your imagination. The human race is essentially being gently but surely relieved of its need for an imagination. I wonder if there is a motive behind this?

I am researching a lot of old alchemists for my next little book and the stunning parallel in all of their lives was their sheer brilliance. University at 13 or 16 already full of alchemical knowledge, books published or completed at around 20 including Agrippa’s three huge volumes on magic. Traveling around Europe and the Middle East, writing a ton of books and manuscripts. The question is how? Just exactly how can a boy of 16 in the 14th Century possibly have accumulated so much knowledge? How can they have learned to write, read, speak multiple different languages, know the philosophers and so on? It’s just utterly amazing. I realize that there was no TV or internet and so time could be spent on contemplation and so on but back
