You are my song

This song is for you The one who occupies my thoughts Who fills my dreams The one who answers My innermost desires This song is for you Even if you never know it You are a mirror To my aching tortured soul My glowing muse This song is about you The one I want to touch and feel The one I need to be with Desire is like a fire Burning within me You are my song You are my lyrics You are the one That inspires me

Solace

The way to liberty is within me The faces around a table Shouting, screaming It’s me you wanna be I must choose if I’m able Exactly who I want to be Meanwhile, it is she who reflects My many faces back to me Timing is everything When words have deeper meaning Than superficially seeming Wrapped in embrace I find the inner me It’s a deeper, more vivid Version lit with energy A fleeting glimpse of another reality Potentiality Voices silenced Momentarily I’m getting closer I’m getting nearer Beginnings and endings Intertwined In this I find Solace

Lord of the Elements

It’s been almost a year since I put out the prequel to The Last Observer. To say it hasn’t sold well would be an understatement. yet I think it is really quite a good story. An occult novella by G. Michael Vasey Black Magic, Astral Travel, Ouija Board Games, Demonic Possession – This book has it all! Edward Bright searches for a lost Grimoire written by a magician who purportedly found the elixir of eternal life – The Grimoire El Natlez. Meanwhile, William meets the enigmatic and hypnotic, Ralph Meister, who promises him a life of wealth, women, and fame, in return for his soul. Behind all of these events is a sinister and powerful demon – the Lord of the Elements. Lord of the Elements is the prequel to

Rebirth

Life lays wanting a diferent way Clouded eyes seek new direction Intellect or via imagination? The Fates chatter in wanton glee They have a plan to set him free But will he ever actually see? And in the silence of the longest night Can they restore his second sight? And later, by the inner fire In that place of seeing That wonderful elemental domain Love washes through the pain She guides his Soul again And is maybe mirrored in reality Through a meeting on a train Light grows, love finds seed And sanctifies his need The future remains uncertain But the path is now set Life has found its way And dawn brings light of day

Ghosts in the Photo?

For quite a while now, I have been using a photo of me in black and white stood in London by a red telephone box in a number of places. The photo  was taken by my business colleague when we were both in London using my phone. In all the time that I have worked with this image, I had not seen something sinister – especially given my interest in ghosts. I do not recall anyone being sat on the kerb when we took the photo, but now this is all I see…. is that two Victorian ladies sitting there? Or is it just a couple dressed in some strange fashion gear? You decide and let me know what you think please….. it send shivers down my spine when I

The City Between Heaven and Hell

There is a city midway Between heaven and hell It welcomes all with open arms Pretty women and tasty ale I spent many a year in its arms They come from far and wide Misfits, escapees and those in search of easier times And they gather With foamy beer and staring smiles No Sea will you find for many miles The mountains equally distant The river cuts this valley of despair The victorian houses stand monument To better times Like silent tombstones An air like death descends And smothers inhabitants choking Never a smile shall you see In Brno, pretty prison she is The pretty sirens sing And laugh with glee They have you trapped you see Escape is futile For us foreigners in exile there

A Nice Review

My latest song – End of the World – just got a very positive review over at Tunedloud.com. They say…. G. Michael Vasey is songwriter based in the Czech Republic. Vasey creates his songs using his home studio where he plays all instruments. The varied music and song craft in his catalog are many things: diverse, innovative, clever, intelligent, quirky, rocking, aggressive, subdued, subtle, melancholy and accomplished, to name just a few things; in short there is something in there for many of the moods you might find yourself in. His music is both exceedingly retro and thoroughly modern. Vasey’s playing is outstanding as is that of the supporting cast of musicians…which is in reality, himself. And go on to say .. Vasey is a wonderfully creative musician. In his songs you

When It Just Seems Dark

For the last months I have felt as if I simply wait to die. I have no interest in anything. I see negative everywhere. I sit and try to plan – after all I’m single these days – I can do or be anything that I want right – but I don’t actually know what I want! I spent a lifetime knowing what I wanted and achieving and now, I can’t plan a day ahead and if I do, I can’t be bothered to do it anyway. I want to sleep but my sleep is full of dreams that are painful and wake me up. Everything seems magnified and more difficult than it should be. I have also noticed that I have been shedding ‘friends’ at exactly the point when

Ride to the Danube

Wouldn’t it be strange If I found you alone on a train Wouldn’t it be just like lady Fate To send you to me too late But, I believe in miracles Guess I always did And I believe in dreaming You can think me stupid Life is nothing but a dream anyway   When I look in a mirror I don’t like what I see looking back Mortally wounded – so very deep But the mirror I met on that railway track She can light me up Alchemy on wheels And I believe in dreaming I just like how it feels I’m feeling and dreaming anyway   A ride to the Danube Clawing my way back from hell A glimpse of heaven in you Drinking at my wishing well Not
