Inner Journeys On Kindle

Thoth has finally made Inner Journeys available on Kindle. It can be ordered at both the US and UK Amazon sites for immediate download. Inner Journey: Explorations of the Soul was my first foray into publishing my experiences. It is somewhat autobiographical in that it deals with why I had an interest in all things Occult and follows my trail to the point where I found the Servants of the Light. It then tracks my experiences of taking the SOL’s first course over 5-6 years and provides some insights into what I learned. In fact, it was Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki, the SOL’s Director of Studies, who suggested I write the book and who kindly provided an introduction too. Inner Journeys: Explorations of the Soul is the compelling account of one man’s

Reading the News

Whenever I return to the UK and listen to the news on TV I am always forced to conclude that newsreaders there must go to some special school of news reading. I’ve seen the news on TV in many many countries now but the UK is unique and fairly strange. I know people living there don’t notice but it is something to do with vocal inflection. The newsreaders’ vocal inflection is simply all wrong and they always go down at the end of a sentence. It drives me nuts. It makes them sound as if they were afflicted with some strange mental disease from my perspective. It sounds condescending too if I am honest. As if, these superior news readers know something I don’t. I always notice this on every

The Countdown to D-Day(s)

Well, the book is printed and the eBook ready and on August 17th and 30th it will be D-Day (USA and Europe dates respectively). Why we have two different dates is beyond me but we do. Six years ago, I was visiting with my son Paul who was taking a semester at King’s College in London and we were sat in a pub drinking some real good English beer. The conversation turned to the nature of reality and magic (as it does if you know me!) and I began to outline a basic idea for a story. The basic idea was that certain people with magical training observe better than others and really do have some ability to create reality. These people were being killed off until all that remained

The ‘Bad’ Review

One of the things you have to develop a thick skin for if you put yourself out there, is the bad review…. No one likes a bad review and I have heard many actors, writers etc. state that they never read reviews because they simply can’t abide it when they get a bad one. Having said that, a bad review is inevitable. Everyone is different and has their own view. So last night I found my first ‘bad’ review. I was googling to see if there were any more reviews and I found it. Actually, it isn’t all bad news. The reviewer actually enjoyed the book and gave it 8/10 for plot but he hated my writing and character development. It is hard to read negative stuff and one immediately

Presidential Myth Making

Those that know me also know that one subject and one subject alone can get me truly very angry. That subject is the idea that man-made CO2 is responsible for ‘global warming’ and today I am very mad because Mr. Obama, presumably to detract attention away from his complete mismanagement of Government and everything else, has decided to jump on the bandwagon. I’m sorry to my friends and eldest son who love this man, but he is to me the worst President the US ever had simply because he doesn’t appear to actually stand for anything except himself and now – the myth of global warming. People – global temperatures haven’t risen in the last 15-years. I’m not going to get into all the arguments because frankly I have made

The FBAR – One of the Joys of Keeping US Citizenship

I got an email reminder from my accountant this morning…. oh joy of joys, it is FBAR time. Just to remind everyone what this is it is a report required of all US citizens living abroad (commonly known as tax evading criminals). I reproduce his email below just so you can see what all is involved in that invasion of my privacy by the US Government…. The bolding is mine… The Foreign Bank Account Report, or TDF 90-22.1 is due to be received by the Department of the Treasury no later than the 30th of June, 2013. Please remember that the FBAR requires you to present information about all non-US bank accounts, brokerage accounts or life insurance/pension insurance securities accounts in which you have a > 50% financial interest, or

And The Truth Will Set You Free

So we are told. Who better to obtain said truth from than a young child? This weekend we took Deni to the fair. I was joking with her that the two skeletons that were gyrating in front of the ghost train were her ‘friends’. The response? “Daddy, they obviously your friends as they are your age.” Hmmmmmm. As if that were not enough I am planning a US holiday this summer. I told Deni that she would see some really poor fat people there. Her response? “Oh so that’s why you are so fat …because you lived in America.” Yes, the truth will set you free……..

Is it me?

Is it me or is the world actually falling apart? And, if it is, what does that say about me? Since I create my own reality, it must surely reflect something going on in how I observe and process the world. It doesn’t much matter whether it’s the mess with horsemeat, the story I read about the four young people that lured and murdered, by strangulation, two young guys so they could have sex on top of some dead bodies (I kid you not!), or just the general global political mess around us. Something seems wrong. The systems have failed. Kids are unemployed and mostly couldn’t care less, often expecting everything handed to them on a plate. In the US, people vote for their free phone, free healthcare, free housing,

Is the Outside Inside?

We know that everything we experience is experienced in our brain and that we actually see, feel, hear is actually via our brain’s ability to interpret our environment. This is science. So I guess what we believe to be on the outside is, in fact, inside of us….We are a cloud of atoms and molecules within a bigger cloud of atoms and molecules and my mind boggles when I try to think about this. The real part of me is simply consciousness and what that actually is, I think from a scientific point of view, is still a mystery. If everything really is inside of us – or, our experience of our environment is inside of us, then logic suggests that we must create this reality as an interpreted image
