General Book News

With Astral Messages now out and a Kindle version of Inner Journeys (my very first book) having also just appeared, my first novel doing quite well and…. a kindle version of The Mystical Hexagram about to appear, I thought perhaps I would just write a quick article about all of my books. The first book was Inner Journeys: Explorations of the Soul. Having completed the first degree course with the SOL, I asked Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki if she would mind if I published a sort of autobiographical book about why I had done the course and what I had experienced. Not only did she think it a great idea but she helped me find a publisher and to promote the book. It was published by Thoth in 2005. Interestingly enough, I

Obsession with a Symbol

The hexagram. It’s a beautiful symbol of balance used extensively around the world and in everyday life. The hexagram might be said to represent the ALL THAT IS and because of its internal symmetry, it represents the ALL THAT IS in perfect harmonious balance – pure perfection. It is a symbol of perfection but it suggests too that perfection or harmony is something very delicate, immensely fragile, and it is easily lost. It is something that must be purposely sought for. It is the symbol of the Sun and, it is the symbol of the Son holding Tiphareth at its very center. It has a golden heart. The hexagram signifies the Great Work of Alchemy. It signifies the emanated and the source. It is the ALL and its creation or

Books and Stuff

After finishing Inner Journeys: Explorations of the Soul (Thoth, 2005), I became obsessed with the hexagram as a symbol. My meditations were focused on it and whatever I read seemed to resonate with it – including books like Comte de Gabalis. For 5-years I continued thinking about, meditating on and exploring the hexagram and its relationship to the elements, the tarot, the tree of life, to alchemy and to astrology. Periodically, I sat and wrote. But for some reason, I could not finish the book. Whatever I wrote, it seemed not to capture adequately the mysteries of the symbol and it seemed the book would never be finished. Initially, I sought information from other books that would back up what was coming through about the hexagram. In the end though,

The Hexagram and Kybalion

The new book – The Mystical Hexagram: The Seven Inner Stars of Power by SC Vincent and myself – gets into a discussion of what I call ‘polarity’. The Polarity displayed by the Hexagram as a symbol is actually best viewed when the Hexagram is overlaid on the Tree of Life. In fact, the book looks at the three types of polarity implicit in the Hexagram as well as what I call the Three Cycles (which interestingly enough equate to the three Alchemical Principles of Salt, Mercury and Sulphur!) as well as the Fire and the Water triangles that, interlaced, form the hexagram. But … back to polarity. Today, I was re-reading the Kybalion book by the Three Initiates. It suddenly struck me that the three polarities observed in the

Writing

I love to write. I always have. For many years I wrote songs and poetry. Playing the guitar, many of these were also set to music… I have a couple of songs that I think are quite good the rest, well, I had fun. Some of those songs and poems are in Weird Tales others are in a huge file of yellowing papers many dating back to 1973. In my professional career, I have also written many many articles and three books. I also have chapters in three other books. All on energy and commodities. One of the articles was even quoted by the US Congress report into the impact of speculators in commodity markets…. However, it was Inner Journeys that I think marked my first real effort at writing

Life as a Symbol

I read recently somewhere on the internet that inner contacts can be viewed simply as symbols. I apologize to whoever wrote this as I cannot recall where I read it and who wrote it but it was a bit of a critique of the concept of inner contacts altogether! But the thought has persisted with me. Standing outside just now puffing on a cigarette, I noticed a mall patch of moss. It was bright green and truly beautiful. As I noticed the moss I started to look around and observe. The trees, the blue sky, the birds singing. The amazing beauty of nature. All symbols. Life is a moving movie of symbols that we simply need to observe and puzzle out their meaning. That bright green moss, that little islands

Whom does the Grail serve?

Meditation today raised the question “Whom does the grail serve?” This last few weeks has been difficult. It is still difficult. I am melancholy, in a deep dark hole. I am sick and can’t seem to get well. Everything suddenly seems gray, unexciting, uninspiring and difficult. Perhaps it is no coincidence that tomorrow will mark the first anniversary of my Father’s passing. In my mind, I saw my Father and I understood his great joy at my birth. His love for me his eldest child and I guess the child he really hadn’t wanted. But, somehow, my birth became a moment of significance in his life and how he celebrated Fatherhood! Becoming a father changed him fundamentally and I think, gave him meaning. My brothers will agree that he was
