The My Haunted Life Trilogy – Final Book

My Haunted Life started off as a book idea to help broaden my readership (from magic to paranormal) and to utilize material from my blog supplemented by new stories as well. The first book – My Haunted Life – sold well and is still selling well and it prompted the idea for a second book – My Haunted Life Too. The second book went out only in Kindle format and it too is selling well. Well, in the book world, things usually come in three’s and so yes – a final book in this series is in the works with the rather unique and obvious title… My Haunted Life 3! Like its two predecessors, it is a collection of true short stories of strange experiences in life; both mine and others.

Happy Holidays!

Well, I am going to take a break this week and won’t be back until next Monday. For the first time, we will celebrate Xmas elsewhere and leave tonight. Thanks to everyone for stopping by periodically and humoring my madness with your eyes and sometimes your hearts (and even wallets?). It’s been a good year really and I hope 2015 will be good too! If you are still searching desperately for presents – how about a book? One of MY books? The Last Observer perhaps or My Haunted Life? Otherwise, Happy Holidays! See you all in a week.

Ghost Stories

This week will see the launch of my new effort and probably the last book for 2014 – My Haunted Life Too. We will do a cover reveal this week as well so stay tuned. It’s a ferocious cover! My Haunted Life Too is a new set of short stories of the strange and the paranormal but this time, the stories are about people around me as opposed to things I have experienced directly. Those who have read it say its better than the first as well – scarier. It will be out on Kindle later this week. Of course, all good things come in threes so there will certainly be a third to follow in early 2015. I can probably recast all three as one paperback book too in

Finally, A Hit?

Recently, I decided to experiment a bit with writing and publishing. I decided to try to broaden my audience a bit and see what worked in terms of covers and content and so on. In writing this blog, I actually generate a lot of material that eventually gets buried and lost in time but is eminently re-usable. I also had the weirdest experiences growing up with ghosts, poltergeist and all sorts of strange paranormal phenomena. I hit upon an idea and wrote My Haunted Life as a small book, primarily designed for the Kindle paranormal and supernatural market. I took some blog articles and turned them into short stories and added several new short stories – all true. I topped and tailed it with some thoughts about reality as it

Little Blue and Green Men

I had a good conversation by phone last night with my Mother. She was keen to know more about my new book – My Haunted Life – and it prompted a discussion of some of the events described in the book and in some articles on this blog. I thought I would pass them along because, if nothing else, they are intriguing. In the advertising for the book, I claim that one of my first memories is of a little blue man jumping out of my mirror, shooting me, and then leaping from my bedroom window. My mother remembers this very well but she says it was a little green man not blue! She told me that she and Dad had more or less just gone to bed when they

The Visitor

It is Halloween….. kids are scared and excited – some adults are too! To start with today, I thought I would reblog this poem, The Visitor, as it describes my childhood very well. Incidentally, it is also reproduced in My Haunted Life but was originally published in Moon Whispers….

Haunted Paintings

Here is a short scary story from the My Haunted Life books…. In fact, paintings sometimes feature strongly in paranormal activity. I will give two additional examples to prove my point. The first is a story that my father told me a couple of times about his childhood. His mother was a bonafide medium, and he grew up with strange goings on just as I did. In fact, this is why he was sympathetic to my dilemma. Apparently, he and his family had once temporarily lived in a flat on the top floor of a three-story building. On the day that they were moving out, he recalled watching the comings and goings of people moving furniture and belongings. Eventually, all was complete, and he and his mother stood outside of

An Old Man in Scotland

Here is another true and strange tale of the paranormal. I will post a new strange true story each day so don’t miss them. This will be last until next Wednesday as its a long weekend public holiday here…. We were touring the west coast of Scotland for a day or two. We had set out from Glasgow that morning and fully intended to go back there that night but the day had been fun with lots to see and do and so by the time we entered Inverary it was already quite late. In fact, we had already visited Inverary jail that morning before motoring a bit further up the coastline so the idea of staying the night there seemed a good one and would give us more time to
