God Visited My Blog Last Night
I had a visitor to my website over night. According to his email address his name was God.God at yahoo.com to be precise. However, based on the content of the message left to greet me this morning, God had very little to do with it. I had thought about reproducing the content of his email here but I won’t. The person who wrote it belongs to that small group of people who feel that God has given them permission to hate and take retribution. Just like the people who are ISIS, beheading and killing for God, this, I suppose ‘christian’, believes he represents God and God’s will and uniquely has the power to identify his adversary. With the advent of Amazon, there are lots of opportunities to have a legit #1 best seller by virtue of their categories. That doesn’t translate to it’s easy though! In fact, the idea of having that orange flag by the side of one of my books saying “best seller” was something I had long given up on ever happening to me. On the other hand, one keeps trying right? Well, this weekend, a little dream was fulfilled and one of my books did get that sought after banner and the tag ‘Best Seller’. Not just in one category but two! Here is a funny and strange thing. While my Haunted Life books sit in the Amazon supernatural charts in the UK and around 5-10 books a day are consumed (thanks so much!), the US has deserted me. Its bizarre because I spent 20 years there and have more friends and contacts there than anywhere else……Hell, my three sons still live there! It’s also a large market and one that I need to crack to make progress. Take for example, January to date. UK – book sales in three figures (that in of itself is a first!) whereas in the USA just 35 sales……. I have the US blues… Any ideas fellow authors, scribblers and dreamers as to how to get the great US public to buy my books?

In two days, 102 people have downloaded My Haunted Life Too on Kindle and it is #1 in the Supernatural category on Amazon.com but bizarrely unranked on Amazon.co.uk. Anyhow, thanks to all who have downloaded it and it will be available for a couple more days yet so do go and grab it while you can. Meanwhile, My Haunted Life 3 is getting pre-orders at 99cents. This will be last in the series (at least thats the current plan). The original My Haunted Life is also selling quite well. However, I am hoping that the entire series will sell increasingly well in the coming months introducing my writing to a broader audience in the process.
