They say that the winner gets to write history and of course, there is truth in that. History is always a subjective assessment and there are always several points of view just as when several people observe an event and yet recollect it differently. Another aspect of history is that we often make the mistake of judging by today’s standards forgetting that the historical culture might possibly be not just different but totally alien to us in our time. None the less, history is important we just need to remember that it is imperfect. In the past, history came mainly from school, books and TV. The message was fairly consistent and led us to believe in a certain take on history. These days, with internet and social media, we areRead More »
Here is a funny and strange thing. While my Haunted Life books sit in the Amazon supernatural charts in the UK and around 5-10 books a day are consumed (thanks so much!), the US has deserted me. Its bizarre because I spent 20 years there and have more friends and contacts there than anywhere else……Hell, my three sons still live there! It’s also a large market and one that I need to crack to make progress. Take for example, January to date. UK – book sales in three figures (that in of itself is a first!) whereas in the USA just 35 sales……. I have the US blues… Any ideas fellow authors, scribblers and dreamers as to how to get the great US public to buy my books?Read More »

Alchemy and the Hexagram
During the 4 or 5 years that I struggled with the content of the book The Mystical Hexagram, which was all received in meditation, I understood that this material was important. I also understood that the approach, using the symbol of the hexagram to cast light on a variety of other magical systems and techniques would appeal to just a small number of people. In the end, I took the use of the symbol only so far and stopped short of where I had intended to go with it – which was to look at what it meant also in alchemical terms. The reasons for this is that I am not expert enough in many areas to trust what was coming through sufficiently to commit it to paper and theRead More »
Strange Books – I Love Them
all my life, well, since being around 12 anyway, I have read strange books. I classify these as books about the occult, magic, new age, wicca etc. along with novels and fantasy dealing with similar themes. It’s what interests me. Being somewhat of an entrepreneur, I asked a friend of mine who is a whiz with websites if he might care to partner up with me on a book review site. The result is Strange Book Reviews. Now, I can have fun reading books and maybe make a little spare change on the side too…. can’t be bad. A side benefit is I can post all of my books there too! Check it out – Strange Book Reviews.Read More »

Thoughts and Prayers Wanted
Many of you will know that Sue Vincent, my co-author on the Mystical Hexagram as well as a good friend, has been suffering from a severe digestive tract problem for some time, and has been living in considerable pain, while she waits for an exploratory operation. Yesterday, while traveling back from a walking weekend in the North of England, she had to stop the car just off the M6 motorway in Cheshire and call for an ambulance. She is now in Crewe hospital and was being assessed for emergency surgery last night (Tuesday 27 March). Please keep Sue in your thoughts and prayers and send her some healing light. Many Thanks.Read More »
To support some of the concepts explored in The Last Observer, I have been posting and will continue to post, quotes from people on the nature of reality and magic. It’s actually quite amazing when you start looking for these quotes, how much agreement there seems to be between widely diverse people on the topic of reality………. Let’s explore a few; [I can’t accept quantum mechanics because] “I like to think the moon is there even if I am not looking at it.” Albert Einstein We do not need magic to change the world. We carry all the power we need inside ourselves already: we have the power to imagine better. J. K.
