The Importance of Asking Questions

Some days I wonder. About everything. I mean, there is a lot to wonder about isn’t there? Why do men have nipples? Why don’t Czech men know about deodorant? Why is GOD DOG spelt backwards? Why does Wayne Rooney get paid so much money? What happened to Trilobites? That sort of question. Questions to which there are really no definitive answers. My favorite question is ‘What am I?’ I see and interact with a world that I sense but I at times of perhaps total lunacy entertain the idea that it is My world. There is only me. Everything is me. It maybe sounds arrogant but I don’t mean it that way. There is just a gulf between the real (me) and what seems to be real (the world) that

Parallel Worlds, Aliens, Conspiracy and Life

Since I was knee high to a grasshopper I have wondered ‘what the hell is this all about?’ I mean this. The world, life and everything. It’s always been transparent to me that all is not what it seems. That ‘this’ really is an illusion – Maya. But what am I? Why do I exist? What’s the point? These questions often have plagued me and last night as I laid in bed I couldn’t sleep wondering yet again over these and similar questions. My problem was that I had been browsing the internet! There are all sorts of ideas out there. Not just ideas but ‘creations’ if you want where someone – probably asking the same questions I am asking – decided on making some answers. I read amongst other

Just words?

There is the saying ‘Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me’. It’s wrong. I heard a variation on the theme just recently where I was told that someone thought that words don’t have consequences, only actions. That’s wrong too. Words are sounds. Sounds are vibrations. Sounds are waves that when they hit the eardrum of a conscious observer turn into sound and are interpreted by the brain. Sounds are a part of the fabric of creation. Not for nothing does the Bible say ‘In the beginning was the Word’ or insinuate that the first words spoken were “Let there be light.’ Kabbalah, the form of it practiced by people like Franz Bardon anyway, is the use of sacred sounds to create, to make magic.

Wakey Wakey People….

Back in 2005, I wrote and published a book called Inner Journeys: Explorations of the Soul (Thoth) about my own personal spiritual journey. Although a personal tale, some of the thoughts were that all is one and that we are all expressions of the same Divine form – we have just forgotten this. I also discussed reality and how we create our reality, how time and space are fabrications of the human mind and how meditation is the key to self-discovery. Several books that I have read recently for one reason or another echo my own individual journey. I just finished Believe and its True by Deborah Lloyd. Deborah Lloyd tells the story through a series of chapters that track her life and the lessons that she has learned from

So what am I Then?

Reality leaves a lot to the imagination. ~John Lennon So what am I then? Just a bunch of atoms Whirling and swirling around I am mostly space if the truth be known unwound Nothing exists except atoms and empty space; everything else is opinion. ~Democritus What animates me? Am I like virtual reality Imagineered like Disney For fun Or something much more Returning to the place it Began Few people have the imagination for reality. ~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe What is it I see? Moreover, how do I feel Is it just electrons Being Is it all just material Physically constrained Seeing? Did you ever wonder if the person in the puddle is real, and you’re just a reflection of him? ~Calvin and Hobbes Are we connected? All things are

Astral Messages

Deep and deeper into the fiery depths Down and down ‘neath the cooling stillness Where obscured symbols serve for words And standing stones encircle scented voids Ancient primordial creatures stir And other strange images form down there Midst blue and emerald mind mists And the elemental mysteries of inner Earth Where fires’ flames lick and dance And the shimmering air swirls entranced Crystalline waters trapped as precious opals Sublime and regal royals enthroned Through all eternity as cold and darkened stones Images move and rise and fall Emerging, emerging and then not at all Half-formed figures born floating linger Whispers and soundless sounds as tinder To spark and fuel those inner flames Astral messages calling ancient names Billowing, enduring truths exclaimed

Recurring Dreams

I have always had recurring dreams. Sometimes, its the same dream but most often I recognize the place in my dream and expand upon it. In the latter, I guess I can also be lucid. Most of my recurring dreams involve houses – huge houses. There are always rooms in those houses that I really like but I never use and in the dream, I am exploring these rooms with a sense of wonderment. I suppose, this is really a self exploration and these unused rooms are perhaps areas of myself that I do not give sufficient attention to. I also have another recurring dream about places. Usually, this involves tunnels and streets and I am lost. I know I am not far from home but I can’t actually get

The Big Questions

There are moments when I wonder what this is all about. By this, I mean life. I woke up this morning and brought with me into waking consciousness something of my dreamworld. A feeling that I am only dreaming. That this is simply not real. Its a feeling I often get and have had since being a kid. Its this feeling that created and supported my interest in the occult and magic. I’m sorry but I can’t imagine dying and that’s the end of it. What would be the point of that? Why would all of this exist just for us to die? Yes, you could argue that I have a touch too much ego to think myself or ourselves worthy of anything but a blink of reality but I

Plumbing

I’m not sure what consciousness is and apparently scientists are clueless too but, I do know that I am conscious – most of the time. Consciousness is associated with the brain – I guess people would argue as to whether the brain is an instrument of consciousness or actually creates the illusion of it. I prefer to believe the former of course. However, if you really think about what we are we are just brains on sticks. The stick is the spine of course but that’s pretty much what we are right? A brain on a stick. The rest of it is plumbing and a sack to hold it all in. The problem is that occasionally, the plumbing goes wrong. It did for me. About 18-months ago, my plumbing had

Reality Quotes

To support some of the concepts explored in The Last Observer, I have been posting and will continue to post, quotes from people on the nature of reality and magic. It’s actually quite amazing when you start looking for these quotes, how much agreement there seems to be between widely diverse people on the topic of reality………. Let’s explore a few; [I can’t accept quantum mechanics because] “I like to think the moon is there even if I am not looking at it.” Albert Einstein We do not need magic to change the world. We carry all the power we need inside ourselves already: we have the power to imagine better. J. K. ROWLING, speech to Harvard Alumni Association, 2008 “Every man lives in a world of his own creation,
