Finally, A Hit?

Recently, I decided to experiment a bit with writing and publishing. I decided to try to broaden my audience a bit and see what worked in terms of covers and content and so on. In writing this blog, I actually generate a lot of material that eventually gets buried and lost in time but is eminently re-usable. I also had the weirdest experiences growing up with ghosts, poltergeist and all sorts of strange paranormal phenomena. I hit upon an idea and wrote My Haunted Life as a small book, primarily designed for the Kindle paranormal and supernatural market. I took some blog articles and turned them into short stories and added several new short stories – all true. I topped and tailed it with some thoughts about reality as it

A Conversation with G. Michael Vasey by Nick Wale

A Conversation with G. MICHAEL VASEY Author of THE LAST OBSERVER Expat Brit located in the Czech Republic G. Michael Vasey is one of those unique writers you come across on a hot summer day. I have marvelled at this interview, and I’ve wondered what I can really say about it. I like this writer—a lot—and I can’t wait for you to like him, too! His book The Last Observer is a bit of everything, and that is the best way to describe this interview. It’s a bit of everything! Who do you have in mind when you write? Me. I write about my interests and things that I am passionate about. I trust that the end product is something of interest to others and that I have something unique

Moon Whispers – A Shameless Plug for Sales.

So as we approach another weekend and some leisure time I will give my new collection of poetry one more plug and then let it die quietly like all the others. Its the weekend, so why not spend just a small amount of money and purchase a copy of Moon Whispers? or actually, if you want a good tale of murder, magic, mayhem, parallel universes, and much much more – The Last Observer awaits you! Moon Whispers A new collection of 30 poems about life, reality and everything. G. Michael Vasey understands the power of the word. In Moon Whispers, he takes obvious care not to convolute a simple message, exercising an economy of words when it is due, to reveal clean, crisp vignettes of his inner landscape. From tantalizing

The Seemingly Forgotten Book

Of all the books I have written, The Mystical Hexagram stands out for me. The hexagram was a bloody obsession to me for about 7-years (7! ha!). I needed some help to get the book over the finish line too and the emergency services arrived to breathe life into a sagging manuscript in the form of Sue Vincent. I even put a poem or two in it. Of Saturn and Lead I speak The basest metal of all Heaviness, darkness Hidden from the light My soul sees the night A burden I cannot carry Instincts abandoned return Spiraling downward Galena’s sulfur suffocates All that Saturn advocates Saturnalia is explained Deep need for some relief Base needs expunged A temporary respite Daytime during night Daath sees from on high These things

Chat – Its Fate

One benefit of having a publisher is they do manage to get publicity you may not have been able to get yourself. In this case, the story published is honestly inaccurate and very sensationalized. The stories are loosely based on those I talked about in Inner Journeys: Explorations of the Soul (Thoth, 2006) but you know what, it has close to a 100,000 circulation and who knows…. maybe it will help sell a few books and add a few blog visits. There I am holding a copy of my novel – The Last Observer (Roundfire Books, 2013) in the lower right hand of the article. amazingly, what I was actually holding in that photo was a beer but I guess they photoshopped it…

Moon Whispers – Another Collection Coming Soon….

In the last few days I have pulled together a bunch of recent poems to be published as Moon Whispers – A New Collection. I am working on the MS, working my way through the BookSurge process and have asked a few other writers to review for back cover-type reviews (In this I have asked some of my Roundfire Books authors to help out and some have kindly agreed. The volume will contain over 30 new poems including Moon Whispers and will be available in paperback and Kindle format in a few weeks. The prior three poetry collections are as follows; Weird Tales: Otherworld Poetry (Createspace, 2006) – a collection of 31 poems some of which were written 40-years ago! Poems for the Little Room (Lulu, 2012 and Booksurge, 2014)-

What is with all the poetry?

This last week or so, poems have been at the end of my pen it would seem. I have no idea why. Anyway, I enjoy writing and poetry is a form of writing right? Whether my poems are any good is up to you to judge but if you do enjoy them please consider procuring one of my three poetry books all available in paperback and Kindle formats at all Amazon sites. You can also go to my poetry page and follow the links there too. Meanwhile, although poetry is dribbling out of me daily, I am making no progress whatsoever on the prequel to The Last Observer. I feel no compelling reason to move forward with it at the moment and need to wait until the moment grabs me

Ambition

One of my ambitions is to sell a few books. OK, I have sold a few books already but not enough to match the ambition. No, I mean a few thousand of one book. The Last Observer, my first novel, probably is the leading candidate for that ambition at least until I can finish the one I am working on at the moment and get it out. The Last Observer has gotten a lot of good reviews but it hasn’t taken off like I had hoped. Check it out… it is a short read and a fast-paced adventure that along the way, will give you a lot to think about on the nature of reality. Join Stanley as he gets sucked into a world of black and white magic. It
