Hey Mr. Shaman

Hey Mr. Shaman What is it that you do? The signs that you leave What is their meaning? Are you welcoming spring And letting the year begin? Pebble patterns all around The silent drum beat In surround sound What is the meaning? What is your intent? Neighborhood shaman Shadowy magic maker Operating in plain site Yet no one notices your Pebbles and tobacco No one questions What it is you do Except me And Im curious You see

Živa

Packets of water Jostle moving downstream A rushing whine Grabs my soul As I tumble and roll away Her hair envelopes Like a curtain waterfall The living waters Suck me down Cleansing, refreshing She giggles and bubbles And all of my struggles Are washed away Her caress I must profess Waters that coalesce Exciting the senses Emerging whole and cleansed The Man The Goddess Blessed

Reflections on Life

Over the last couple of years, I bashed out a good deal more poetry and verse and, as I am apt to do, I bundled it up in a new short volume of poems called Reflections On Life. I don’t really know why I bother a poetry barely sells but you never know who one of these slim volumes may find. I also used a small number of my own photographs for the cover and inside on the theme of reflections to round it out a bit. It is already available in Kindle format and will soon be also out in paperback form as well.

I Have Cried Enough Tears For You…

I have cried enough tears for you And yet still I wish you well And hope to see you escape your hell It must be hard to live consumed by self Always defensively aggressive Seeing enemies in your friends Holding people to a standard You didn’t set yourself I have cried enough tears for you And yet I still have hope That you might finally see You are your own worst enemy And you are sowing your own misery Rejecting those that love you And chasing those that never will As anger seethes within I have cried enough tears for you The loss of what may have been That aches so deep inside But I’m so tired of this ride I’m tired of what I see inside of you

The Cycle

These eyes look as vision fades Into darkened, dampened forest glades Russet hues and yellows burn As Fall takes its three-month  turn Towards the dark of winter’s cold The cycle of life to death to life The way of all things we are told In myth and legend’s that foretell strife We are but passing flotsam Cast upon a naked shoreline Silently mouthing the words ‘I am’ Consciously murmuring in time To the mood-swelled tidal forces In an early primeval dawning As the heated blood now courses Pumped through growing limbs entwining Our everlasting souls soaring To find the Sun and its nourishing light In which to find our way through second sight Back home

The Millennial

I remember going to school to get an education Now they go for an indoctrination Freedom is besieged by the enemy within The key to acceptance now is judgement To crucify another’s rights to a life style What right have you to do this? First off, judge yourself and understand Ideology has poisoned the waters of your life An unwillingness to think No idea how to face the truth A focus on the outer other As opposed to your personal inner And in the cleverness of your stupidity You have condemned yourselves With confidence in your idiocy You have marked yourself out As a follower, a zealot Pushing an agenda Earning brownie points Your rottenness presented As morality posturing For all to see

Islands

The music floats on aural highways Conjuring a mood and kindling memories A certain sadness creeping in Knowing only I experience this feeling In exactly this way in this moment Since slowly passed away Your words linger and may charm or sting Depending on the mood you bring The body language can also be read You are a book that emanates from a hole in your head But I cannot truly understand you No matter what words you say I am an island, a castaway I am God’s joke – I hear him chuckle Knowing that I can never share Never know how you truly feel Never know if you really care You are an island, faraway A distant shore seen through the haze Untouched save by the waves

Value Who You Are

I am a thought in the mind of God. A ripple of consciousness in time and space. I am making it up as I go along gaining in wisdom, experience and versatility as I go. My value is that I am. We must all value who and what we are. Unique as we all are, the death of a person takes with it countless life lessons and experiences……. Be yourself. Live! Do not be afraid. You are a well of experience, inspiration and yes, magic. So frolick in the Sun, laugh, be merry… and love with fury!

Vitriol

They tell me on the radio Repeat it on TV They tell me what I should believe Convincing words and stories Switch the channel for an alternate view The scientists say it, so it must be true False news is everywhere What can I believe?   Bitcoin will make you rich Hot girls in your city waiting Get a date with me, I’m hot as hell And if you want, I’ll sex you This spam is everywhere Ubiquitous across the web False news is everywhere What can I believe?   Reality is hard to find The truth harder to discern We are bending with their words Dancing within their stories Playful play things controlled and abused I am no longer amused False news is everywhere What can I believe?

The Fates

I’m sipping my red wine Slipping back through time Memories of a life well-lived No regrets, but I miss those days The past is gone and one cannot dwell On what might have been But rather I learn through loss And look forward with hope A life I could never have imagined Complete in every way And lived every single day Blessed Im not where I thought Id be But wisdom extracts a price And when you roll the dice And follow the fates Life takes its course And your future awaits The key is gratitude Having learned the lessons That they threw at you The cackling laughter Of the Fates in their glee And yet without them I simply couldn’t see And the wheel of life Turns, turns, turns
