Off To Aston…

I remember being very keen to escape from Hull and Willerby. At age 18, my chance had arrived. I was off to Aston University in Birmingham for 3-years. It wasn’t my family I wanted to escape from it was the place. There was a big world to explore and I wanted to have a fresh start. Be the person that I was instead of the person people thought I was. Back then, Birmingham seemed miles and miles away. The train ride was via Doncaster and Sheffield and it was tremendously exciting….. Birmingham itself was like a concrete jungle. Aston is near the city center and then it literally was concrete underpasses, concrete walkways, concrete bull ring and … well, it was all so much concrete really! Did I care? Hell

The Creator’s Smile

Reddened stain A blot upon humanity God sheds a tear At Man’s utter insanity Inside, deep inside Surely you have a heart? Looking for Christ’s glowing bride Keep looking, as She can’t be lost She is in there somewhere You just need to seek harder Anima Mater is hiding Tears fall, blood spills Man is confused over His Godlike power to kill Is there victory in Death? All that hard wrought experience Be still! Take a breath Parisian walkways Laid bare and bereft Creator sighs a sadly sigh His adversary beneath laughs It echoes in the sky like gunfire Light temporarily obscured in darkness Trees rustle in the wind The cloud passes Light restored, Love adored A smile of seven colors As normality is restored

The Mystical Hexagram – Countdown Deal

For the first week of December, we have set up an Amazon countdown deal for the kindle version of The Mystical Hexagram. It will start at 50% off on the 1st December. The book explores a symbol. Not from some scholarly or deeply complex perspective, but seeing it as a representation relating to life and living. The forces and pressures that are associated with the hexagram are, after all the forces of life at both practical and Universal levels. By exploring and beginning to understand the symbol, we are able to learn and discover more about ourselves. The meditations throughout the book take you on an inner journey of exploration, discovering the parallels between the self and the greater reality within which we live our lives. They illustrate the connection

The Subtle and The Gross

For all that meets the bodily sense I deem Symbolical, one might alphabet For infant minds: and we in this low world Placed with our backs to bright Reality, That we may learn with young unwounded ken The substance from the shadow. (The Destiny of Nations – Coleridge) I am finding The Zelator by Mark Hedsel a fascinating read. I have, in fact, read it at least twice before and it was one of those books that discovered me many years ago. I recall being in Toronto on a business trip and having a couple of hours to kill. I found a cheap bookstore somewhere in town and there was a pile of books called The Zelator. I picked one up and was sold in an instant. Hedsel discusses at

2014 – It’s a ‘7’ Year

If you add together the numbers in 2014 they will sum to seven. Seven is a highly significant number and one that gets a lot of attention in our book The Mystical hexagram. It is the number of spiritual perfection. Think about the number seven a bit…. – There are seven days in a week – There are seven original planets and seven metals – Seven seals and seven trumpets in Revelation – We have a ‘seven year itch’ – the Torah begins with a verse containing 7 words and 28 letters (divisible by 7) – Kabbalah teaches that 7 represents wholeness and completion – A hexagram has 6 points (there are six directions too) and a central point of balance making seven – Seven veils of Isis – Seven

The ‘Bad’ Review

One of the things you have to develop a thick skin for if you put yourself out there, is the bad review…. No one likes a bad review and I have heard many actors, writers etc. state that they never read reviews because they simply can’t abide it when they get a bad one. Having said that, a bad review is inevitable. Everyone is different and has their own view. So last night I found my first ‘bad’ review. I was googling to see if there were any more reviews and I found it. Actually, it isn’t all bad news. The reviewer actually enjoyed the book and gave it 8/10 for plot but he hated my writing and character development. It is hard to read negative stuff and one immediately

Fast Food for the Soul

The world is full of hype isn’t it? All around the internet you will find articles such as ’15 ways to be happy’, ’10 ways to lose weight’ or, ‘3 reasons to quit smoking’. Why do all these hyped articles involve numbers? What is it about listing a small number of things that appeals to readers? I’ll tell you. Time and efficiency. Why would I read an essay if I can get 12 short statements? ‘The seven habits of effective people’ – another example. Everything must be boiled down to the bare bones and presented quickly. It’s fast food for the soul! The problem is surely that being eternal, why would the soul want fast food? In fact, its the body and maybe the ego that wants instant gratification. The

The Gospel of Mary

The Gospel of Mary (Magdalene) is a fascinating but incomplete document that we have only recently had an opportunity to read since it was only relatively recently published. It makes you wonder what else is laying out there in the desert yet to be found? This is a very esoteric document in which Jesus says there is no sin except that which we introduce, He discusses the nature of reality too! In fact, this is worthy of multiple reads and consideration. I am one who thinks that Jesus did exist and was a Master. His message has been hijacked by evil dry men who use it to control us through fear unfortunately (You will go to Hell!!) when it should have been a liberating and magical message. Luckily, blind people
