The Art of Dreaming

I love to dream. At least I love to dream good dreams and still suffer too many nightmares. Dreams provide a glimpse into the inner workings of the soul and are very much worthwhile recording. OK, some dreams are just a mish mash of nonsense but some hold deep significance. In my book, Inner Journeys, I talk about a dream that I still have periodically. My house dream. I can’t truly express how I feel about this house, well, sprawling mansion. I adore it with an intensity that defies description. Sometimes, the house seems partly unfinished, partly built and occupied and in other areas, partly ruined and left to the ravages of time. This house contains treasures beyond description and its nooks and crannies contain surprises; sometimes unpleasant surprises. In

St. Germain and Bardon

Anyone who has read Frabato the Magician will be aware of the claim that Franz Bardon was the reincarnation of St. Germain, as well as a lot of other things about Bardon that one’s initial reaction is to discount as the over zealousness of his followers. But, I have been in a vein of thought and meditation for some time now about all of this and I do believe that there is a connection between Bardon and St. Germain. One only has to read Comte de Gabalis (most likely the Comte is St. Germain) and compare with Bardon’s material to start to suspect at least a common point of origin. What is also intriguing is the lack of any real details around either man. Indeed, their lives have a sort

Indian Hermit – 70-years Without Food or Water

The BBC has a short video story on an Indian hermit who is being examined at a hospital because he doesn’t appear to have eaten or drank in 70-years. Instead, he claims he gets his energy from meditation. Worryingly, he is also being examined and watched 24-hours a day by the Indian military who want to find his secret for potential military uses. My thoughts on this are as follows… I have no doubt that living without the need for food and/or water is possible and that forms of meditation can provide the necessary energy. One only has to read the books by Franz Bardon to understand how this can be achieved. My second thought is that the Indian military are wasting their time. These techniques take decades to master…

The Gospel of Thomas

Just recently I have seen a lot of movies at home and I couldn’t help seeing some coincidences in terms of the movies and my thinking at the moment. Lets take for example the Bruce Willis movie – Surrogates – isn’t this a good analogy for how most of us truly are – dead? We are surrogates hiding behind our masks and facades pretending to be people we really are not because we are afraid to be who we actually are or we simply don’t know… we are the dead, we are surrogates. Anyone who has read my book – Inner Journeys – will also recollect that as a child I used to have the idea – strongly envisioned – that I was a surrogate. Hooked up to a machine

Exactly What Reality Are We Creating?

Regular visitors will know that I believe that we create our own reality so today I want to ask you – what reality are we all creating? The Power of Thought Your thoughts are powerful. Your thoughts create. Some would argue that thoughts create in what is often termed as the ‘astral plane’ – which is a sort of substratum on which the physical world around us is based. If this is true then what do you think about? What sort of astral world are you creating? As I have said in previous posts, the world around us helps govern our thoughts. Watch the news, read a newspaper – its all doom and gloom. Stories of war, famine, violence, global warming and terrorism – to name a few things. We

The Art of Meditation – Part II

Having learned how to relax and found a suitable location where we will not be disturbed, the next phase in meditation is the actual meditation itself. In general, there are two or perhaps three methods of meditating; • Focus on a word, phrase, image and drill down into it; • Keep the mind blank and allow images to arise; • Guided meditation – also know as ‘Pathworking’ Let’s look at each in turn. Focused Meditation In focused meditation we already know what it is we wish to meditate on. It can be a useful technique when you want to examine something and really drill down into it. An example is perhaps the better way to examine focused meditation. We have read a book and enjoyed it but it really made

The Art of Meditation – Part One

Introduction According to Wikipedia, Meditation can be defined as “a state of concentrated attention on some object of thought or awareness. It usually involves turning the attention inward to a single point of reference.” For me, meditation involves reaching a state known as ‘mind awake, body asleep.’ Several techniques may then be used to actually meditate including constant thought and attention on an object, symbol or a statement or, my favored approach, emptying of the mind to simply let images arise that are noted and then dismissed. I will discuss these two approaches in more detail in a later continuation of this dissertation. To meditate properly, that is, to reach the correct state of ‘body asleep, mind awake’ is in fact quite difficult and some students have immense problems getting

Thoughts On Meditation

When I first started out on this path, I was very concerned about whether I was doing it right. What was meditation and visualization? Eventually, I seemed to stumble into it though and despite occasionally questioning my version of meditation and visualization against what I read as other people’s experience, I began to realize that what I do works for me and gained confidence. I now realize that I have in fact spent many innumerable hours meditating without even realizing that I was doing it. As a child growing up in England, I had quite a distance to walk everyday back and forth to school. To kill the boredom of the walk, I would imagine that I was a pop star with my own band and a song in the

Waking From The Great Sleep

Looking around, I think that most people are totally unaware of what and who they truly are. Occultists have referred to this as ‘sleeping’. The vast majority of us are sleeping through life pursuing some materialistic dream like children distracted by shiny new toys. I can feel myself being sucked in to this quite often now that I am aware of it. Glued to the TV, or lusting after a new and faster sports car, our attention gets sharply focused on the outer world around us and that inner voice that speaks quietly to us gets drowned out by the noise of the world. WE Butler, a famous occultist and founder of the Servants of the Light, discusses this at great length in his lectures to the Ibis society*. The
