Who Am I?

Good question. Funny thing is that I have spent years trying to figure this out. I have met different parts of my psyche in meditation and for a while, I thought I knew who I was – warts and all – or probably better put as Mr. Angry and the others. But, you know, that isn’t who I am. Nope. It’s who I thought I was. Actually, I now know I haven’t got a clue who I am. When you live with someone – a wife or a partner – for 30 odd years, you become someone else. Then when suddenly, after all that time with a special someone in your life (or a special two someones over that 30 odd years), you find your self single. Then, you look

The Hexagram

I’m unsure how many people may have read the book The Mystical Hexagram by myself and Sue Vincent, but I am sure its less than 100. Even I will describe the book as a strange tome but packed with magical information. The book came about as a result of my utter obsession with this occult symbol. While I was finishing the Servants of the Light first degree course, I kept on seeing the symbol in meditation. The inner contact that I had developed kept leaving me with tantalizing scraps of wisdom about it too. I found myself doodling hexagrams and pondering the correspondences of it. I recall one weekend retreat led by Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki in which I showed her this huge diagram of the symbol and everything I could possibly

Thoughts on Higher Purpose

‘All is as it should be’ – Is it? Actually, it probably is. We tend to think of ourselves moving through time consciously making decisions that impact our future selves and the world around us. The more likely truth is that we are creatures of habit and subconscious desires and habits. We are unbalanced and our physical, emotional and mental bodies are unaligned or we are simply not in control. Free will? I have come to the conclusion that for the normal person, we probably have little or no free will. If time is a construct of the mind – and increasingly the evidence from all sides suggests that it is – then how can we have free will? More likely our entire life is already mapped and plotted and rather

The Judge Within Me

I have a dilemma. It’s been one of those lifelong dilemmas if I am honest. Here it is. I am interested in people’s thoughts on this one. Inside of me is one character or persona who I will term The Judge. He sits in judgement (reminds me a bit of the Tarot image of The Emperor card to be honest) of me, life and everything. Often, He is quick to speak – “That’s wrong, that’s right, How dare he? What an ass” and so on. He is also the faculty that I use to decide what is right and wrong and what is truth or fiction. He has a purpose. A valid purpose and yet….. I have another aspect that tells me I should not judge and that I am

Prostrates – Who Wants Them?

As many men my age will know, prostrate pain is very annoying. It is a low grade pain or soreness that grates on the nerves over time. It causes depression apparently and I can see why. I have suffered from this since my mid 30’s and it is progressively getting worse. The first time was in Houston and I recall being very nervous visiting the doctor but a month of very strong antibiotics sorted it. These days, I take all kinds of herbal remedies and only visit the doctor if it gets to the point it is today – feels like someone gave me a good kicking! The problem with this little male gland is that its hard to know what is wrong with it. It is full of very

Coming Soon – The Mystical Hexagram – 2nd Edition

I am very pleased to be able to say that there will be a 2nd Edition in the coming weeks of The Mystical Hexagram by Sue Vincent and myself. It will feature an all new cover, some additional content, some edits to the original content and will appear on the Asteroth’s Books publisher marque. The Mystical Hexagram is something of a ‘received’ text in part as much of the content came through meditation on the hexagram over a period of several years. It also features a set of exercises that are based on that received material to provide readers with a feel for the symbol themselves. The original edition of the book has received good reviews and feedback so we do hope the new edition will be equally well though

Subconscious Creation?

Around 95% of our brain activity is said to be the unconscious mind. That means I am only 5% conscious. If this is true, and I have no doubt that it is, what does it actually mean? The subconscious mind is like a tape recorder where I can set up a bunch of activities and then run it over and over again. It’s a sort of set of automated routines running in background that maintain bodily functions and habits. It is also often our adversary. Through my mind, I create my reality. But if 95% of my thoughts are subconscious and I am unaware of them or they are accidentally or purposely programmed responses like fear and flight, my reality will be chaotic and might even be a total nightmare.

Prayer and its Power….

I just finished a book by Mark Stavish called The Inner Way – The Power of Prayer and Belief in Spiritual Practice. Prayer is a very powerful tool that we have in our armory of magickal tools and one that is often overlooked. This is my review from Strange Book Reviews – my book review website. Five-stars from me for a wonderful book. There are books that you read, enjoy, perhaps assimilate a little of, and then consign to the dusty shelf of books once read but never retouched. There are other books that you read turning page after page, eager to move on, knowing that to properly assimilated, the book will need to be kept close at hand to be read, reread and dipped into when necessary. These latter types

A Meeting with God

In the run up to Halloween, here is another true and strange tale of the paranormal. I will post a new strange true story each day so don’t miss them. A few weeks into my college days, as I made my way from the Students’ Union building to my student flat on the 19th floor of a campus building, I noticed a rather suspicious looking character who seemed to be following me around. As I entered one of the elevators in the ground-floor of the building, he followed peering sideways at me but looking away whenever I tried to catch his eye. As the elevator arrived at my floor, I was hoping it was all just my imagination and that perhaps he would continue up to the top floor above
