Visualizing the Future

A few weeks ago I wrote an article about a new way to pray in which I highlight a youtube video that says the way to pray isn’t to ask for something but to imagine you already have it. Then yesterday, I came across this article that talks about using the power of imagination to rehearse an outcome. Apparently, it is used particularly by sports people. Magic, is creeping into everything these days it seems. Yes, this is magic – the old wicked, evil occult stuff…… The basis of magic is to empower and enflame the imagination to visualize something that we would like to see happen in our reality. We do this by using symbols that focus our imaginings on what it is we want. We can use a

The Last Observer – What Are You Missing?

The Last Observer: A Magical Battle For Reality, Roundfire, 2013 The Last Observer is a compelling fictional tale of magic, alternative realities, murder and conflict. An ordinary man is abruptly dragged into the middle of a violent struggle between black and white magicians who both seek to use his extraordinary powers of imagination and observation. He soon learns that reality is not at all what it seems before being called upon to play a decisive role in determining whose reality will prevail. I am fascinated by what makes up reality. Faith can move Mountains it is said. In fact, faith in an ability to imagine into reality a mountain moving is what magick really is. So what might happen if a black magic cult wanted to change the world and

My Dad – The Last Observer

Have you ever wondered how things work? My father did this all of the time. You could see it in his face as he had a habit of moving his eyes from side-to-side in a particular way when he was deep in thought. He would be wondering, you see, how does that work? I was fortunate that my father thought this way because he would occasionally discuss his thoughts and more importantly, his ideas, about how things worked with me. The ‘thing’ could be a computer, an engine or indeed, the entire universe. I’m not exactly sure what thought processes my dad used but he had no more than a secondary school education broken up by the war and supplemented by some ‘night school’. He was a practical man too

Three Ideas For Christmas

Here are three of my books that are inexpensive and would make a nice stocking filler……. Available on Amazon or directly from me. Astral Messages: Poetry from Beyond, Createspace, 2013 Astral Messages is my third book of poetry. It uses poems and blog articles from – Asteroth’s Domain – in a poetic discussion about reality and magic. From the opening ethereal beauty of “Astral Messages” to the humor of the questioning about “Why is life so dirty”, this is a collection of 17 new poems. Each is coupled with a short article to strengthen and bolster the points being made. At the end of the day, we are all magicians willfully creating our realities and Astral Messages demonstrates how this touches all aspects of our lives – yes, even our

Seeking Neverland

As a young child I think I was quite innocent. Perhaps I was a tad over protected by my parents or perhaps I was just built that way. To be honest I do not know. I do know though that I had (and to some degree still do have) an imagination. My imagination was such that I drew other children in to my fantasy land and when I left it even momentarily, they stopped playing there. It was as if I were the catalyst for whatever fantasy we built. It was I that built layer upon layer of substance out of sticks, dustbins, stones and such. I would often delay having to go to the bathroom simply because I knew that on my return, the fantasy would be lost, gone,

So what am I Then?

Reality leaves a lot to the imagination. ~John Lennon So what am I then? Just a bunch of atoms Whirling and swirling around I am mostly space if the truth be known unwound Nothing exists except atoms and empty space; everything else is opinion. ~Democritus What animates me? Am I like virtual reality Imagineered like Disney For fun Or something much more Returning to the place it Began Few people have the imagination for reality. ~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe What is it I see? Moreover, how do I feel Is it just electrons Being Is it all just material Physically constrained Seeing? Did you ever wonder if the person in the puddle is real, and you’re just a reflection of him? ~Calvin and Hobbes Are we connected? All things are

Man in the Sky

Imagine a Man in the sky Sitting all alone, poor guy Thought he’d had a bit of fun Play a game and then be done He imagined so very, very hard Opened his eyes and sighed Seeing the beauty of it all Better than being so fucking bored Now I will be the one and only Lord Mini me’s to worship me And proclaim my divinity They strut upon my stage Hoping to avoid my rage When they turn their back on me Look at how they multiply Many are born and fewer die They deny that I exist at all Chasing money and having a ball I grow weary of watching and waiting Find them so bloody aggravating It’s Time to play another game

Fog

This morning, for the first time in a very long time, it was really quite foggy here in Prague. We live at the top of a hill and it was quite bizarre driving up the hill into the fog. For a moment, my imagination was off and I half expected to emerge on the other side of the foggy wall in a parallel universe. Most disappointingly, I didn’t. When I was a boy, there seemed to be much more fog. Maybe there was as in industrial Britain of the 1960’s it was smog rather than fog that we were dealing with. Perhaps, it was just Hull situated between the coast and the River Humber on the flat plains of Holderness. Always damp and cold, fog just seemed a natural part

Magic As A Reality

The word ‘magic’ can mean different things to different people. For some, just watching the sunset or seeing a beautiful view can be magic, for others it is trickery and sleight of hand and yet for others, me included, magic is real magic. Real magic is making something happen through willing it to be. However, before we go too much further, let us make a few discoveries together that may convince you that we are all magicians and that we work real magic each and every day. As you are reading this, your eyes are taking in light from the computer screen. The light enters your eye. It is then converted into electrical signals and they are then sent to a part of your brain where they are processed back
