Felling Sheepish

For years, I have churned out books, music, poetry, photography, thoughts, podcasts, videos and goodness knows what. I’m not sure I ever built much of an audience or following except maybe around my paranormal books. To be honest it never used to bother me that much – I’m an addicted creator – an artist who cannot help himself. I always thought I would make a few bob off of the back of the content I produced and maybe one day, I could ease up a bit and live off of my creativity and hobbies. Unfortunately, I like many others never saw the shift to free stuff. People simply expect stuff for free now… or pretty much close to free. And then there is Amazon that on the one hand opened

Seeking the Magic and Eternal Youth….of a Sort.

Tonight, I have had one of those evenings where I think back accompanied by music of the time. I miss Texas or I miss the life I had there. But then I had a thought. My memories of that time or indeed any time in my life are vague with very few clear memories. Knowing memory, even those clearer images may not be real at all but deeply tinted with a certain wishfulness or nostalgia. I have photos, the recollections of others – my sons for example as well however, the truth may be that my past is as vague and as unreal as my future because my memories are selective and easily reprogrammed by constant use. Life back then was as life now most likely and I look back

Revisiting The Old Hag

Last night I re-edited, re-titled and re-covered my book originally called ‘Riding the Old Hag’. I thought that an excellent title by the way but….. maybe not. So now it has the title – Basic Instinct: Erotic Paranormal Contact – The Old Hag and the Mysterious World of Sleep Paralysis. The content remains the same but this book didn’t seem to get the attention that it deserved. You see, after a life time of paranormal activity and as a result of my clairvoyance and magical training, I slowly came to a startling conclusion. I had long had my suspicions and throughout all of my paranormal books, I will comment on the nature of reality. However, when researching the black-eyed kids and trying to explain whet they were, I started to

The Lesson of Sam White

After having quite a few successful books out – all in the supernatural category. I put out a beautiful set of fictional short stories on a metaphysical theme. I had it professionally edited. I released it under what I thought was a pretty good title with a lovely looking cover…. The Pink Bus and Other Strange Tales from LaLa Land…… It sort of died. I couldn’t believe it. It was my favorite work and some of the stories I had thought were really quite good. I recall the editor – who I tremendously respect as a write in her own right (Alienora Taylor) told me she loved it. But despite free give aways, discounts and so on, it barely sold…. just 40 copies in 6 months with 98 free copies

Humanity at its Finest…Not!

Now that at least here in Czechia, the lockdown is coming to an end, I’m feeling a little nostalgic for it to be honest. I am for personal freedom and I think the state has acted in a heavy handed manner – one I never want to see repeated. But that is a different topic. This weekend, my fellow human was out and about and frankly, some of us don’t deserve to be let out at all, ever. Yesterday – it was a Saturday, I was treated to a return of the idiot driver. Within minutes of getting on the road in my car, a motorcyclist overtook me and another car on a dual carriageway by blowing between us. He failed to see or simply ignored my right turn signal

Beware Stories of Our Demise …..

Since its Earth day, lets look back at expert predictions from the 1970s… and then reflect on why we still believe these so called experts in Government and media… I’m guessing that No.10 is the only one you could claim happened and doesn’t No7 sound like the climate change alarmists of today pushing their unproven pseudoscientific hypothesis? Just look at No. 11 and consider there is so much oil in 2020 it is priced negatively…. We never learn that humanity is an opportunistic species well adapted to change with the ingenuity to solve almost all problems….. Thats the truth people. Wake up! 1. “Civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind.” — Harvard biologist George Wald 2. “We are in an

Proven? It’s a Theory….

Somehow, the idea that science is proven or settled has become a thing in recent times. I’m not just talking climate – I’m talking about science in general and how it is portrayed by the media in particular. “Settled, done, dusted…..” Er – nope. The scientific method is very specific. It is an approach that goes like this…. – Observe and collect data, – Create a theory to explain the observed data, – Invite criticism via a peer review process of the theory, and – Model the theory and make predictions based upon it that can be validated. Essentially, this process calls for continual iterations of a theory until such time as it no longer serves and is replaced with another. Notice the use of the word THEORY. All science

ACX Gets Tyrannical – Warning!

For many years, I have published some of my books as audio books using ACX. I have never had any trouble with them and barely ever log on the website except to check sales from time to time. Apparently, I have sold almost 3000 audiobooks. In October, I got an email from ACX about ACX University – or something similar. They have a bunch of videos and blogs as resources for authors. That is interesting, I thought and went over to look. I found out they had reintroduced ‘promo codes’ whereby you can give away a copy of your book. They tell you how to do this and suggest you use them with reviewers or as rewards for readers. I decided I would experiment a bit and order promo codes
