Talk Talk

This is the final mastered version of a song I just wrote and I’d love your feedback – what do you think? It is called Talk Talk… Talk, talk Talk, talk Talk, talk Talk, talk A talking head A constant stream But in my head Is anyone listening? Talk, talk Talk, talk Talk, talk Talk, talk How fitting To see your name in print Fame always eluded you Now you are a household name How very apt To see you truly succeed Talk, talk Talk, talk What Your fame came too late Posthumous recognition Are you watching from some other place? Is there a smile upon your ghostly face? You chased and fought daily How bloody eerie Talk, talk Talk, talk

Come Down

So here is a new song… The Sun is out today Shining like the star that it is Even I could never say That life is wasting away Come down to me Be the person you aim to be Come down to me Let me touch, let me see The Moon is in the sky Reflecting the light of life I look and I stare But in the end, I’m cannot care Your are my Sun and the Moon You are the stars that shine You are the one that came to stay Never to leave me anyway Come down to me Be the person you aim to be Come down to me Let me touch and let me see

She’s Out There

I finished the second song in Garageband. It’s an old tune that I wrote in around 1979 called She’s Out There. I have got a bit better with Garageband now but am still learning how to use it properly. Anyway, here it is.

I Feel an Album Coming On

Recently, I bought a new guitar. Then, I bought a way to record it on my iMAC and then finally, I bought a microphone…. I am now engaged in a project to record a bunch of songs I wrote and often performed back in the 1970’s and early 80’s along with a couple of newer songs. Not sure what people will make of my indulgence but I am having fun! One thing I discovered is that my voice is no longer very powerful and I no longer can hit the notes so well….. However, here is the first track – I may re-record the verse vocals at some point but for now, I’m sort of OK with this. It’s called Waitin’ For You and I wrote it in a room

She Is still Out There

Back in the 70’s and early 80’s, I was still playing guitar with various bands. I don’t know why I stopped really as it was tremendous fun. I was also writing a lot of songs and in one instance was asked to write songs for amateur dramatics version of a play. Anyway, recently I bought a new guitar and thought I’d play around with garageband. She’s out there is a song I wrote in 1979 would you believe…. Here is the song …..

Sickened by Conspiracy

Last night, I tapped into the search bar on You tube ‘David Bowie interviews’. I was amazed, saddened and yes, deeply angered by what came up. Video after video proclaiming Bowie a satanist who has faked his own death and much worse. I fear that this has become an epidemic and it is one I personally have no time for whatsoever. Actually, there are two issues at play here. First, the term ‘satanist’ combined with ‘satan’ or ‘the Devil’ and secondly, the idea that people haven’t died – including school kids in the US and famous people like David Bowie. Let’s deal with the first one first. There are satanists. They do indeed exist. However, all the evidence around David Bowie is that he had an interest in the occult

The Death of Idols

Idols are really symbols that have a deep meaning that is only understood personally. While an idol may have a life of its own, it’s not possible to be the idol or participate in its experience of life. David Bowie is one more idol of mine and countless others, that has left to move on somewhere else. Much will be written about him in the next few days. For me, he was a symbol of something that I chose from time to time, to give my attention to. He is a memory trigger of happy times, great people and incredible memories of my life. Whether that be driving to Cornwall listening to kooks with my then best friend Mike in my late teens, or feeling strong as I listened to
