Japanese Ghosts

Not content with writing ghosts books I am now also publishing them. My brand – Asteroth’s Books – will publish a new book by Thomas Bauerle called Kanashibari – True Encounters of the Paranormal soon. It’s a really good book with many stories of Japanese ghosts and paranormal phenomena and I am loving the cover…. So, if anyone wants their book published and it is in the right genre (paranormal etc.), consider Asteroth‘s Books – we publish and promote your book…. Also coming soon – The Lord of the Elements ….

Edward is Back!

For those of you who read my novella The Last Observer and liked it, there might be some good news…. Edward is back! Yes, the thoughtful Magician who tried to save Stanley from being snuffed out by a black magic lodge, is the key character in the prequel follow up – The Lord of the Elements – out soon. I am in the last chapter or so now and will soon be issuing it in Kindle format. Although it is a prequel, it should be read after The Last Observer otherwise it will spoil that book’s plot. Perhaps it is best positioned as book #2 in a series that investigates Edward’s past. Drawing on my magical knowledge and interest, The Lord of the Elements includes a magic ritual that goes

Living Ghosts

My latest Kindle Short in the Paranormal Eyewitness series is titled – Ghosts of the Living. I guess that is a sort of mismatch of terms – ghosts of living people….. and therein lies the fun of this book. What I discovered is that there are a number of ways that living people can appear as ghosts…. here are a few – bilocation, doppelgangers, and astral projection. So I covered these and other similar phenomena and I arrived at a conclusion that I rather like actually. In moments of danger, stress, or near sleep, we probably all have the ability to bilocate or be in two places at once. The book is filled with short but real examples as well. Funnily enough, I was telling a friend about the book

Expertise is the New Arrogance

The other week, I was told I was arrogant in a social media forum. The other person then cut me off and cut all ties altogether. I looked up arrogant and arrogance to see if it were true, that I am arrogant. One definition that I found was this – an attitude of superiority manifested in an overbearing manner or in presumptuous claims or assumptions.  Now, I am pretty sure I don’t feel superior to anybody. Quite the reverse in fact. I think I am a bloody mess of emotions, thoughts, and reactions like most of the rest of humanity and that occasionally, when I remember, I am trying to figure all of this out. On the other hand, I am increasingly concerned by what I see in the world

‘Uncle’ Jack

I learned in the last few minutes of the passing away of Uncle Jack. He had, as we say, a good innings and in the end, I think he faded away as a result of old age. He wasn’t my Uncle at all but that is what I called him. He was my Dad’s best friend and they had known each other since childhood. I’m sure Dad will be pleased to have welcomed him to the other side… Jack was a constant figure in my childhood. We vacationed with him and his family, went weekend camp meets with them and much more. My Dad had no family to speak of and so Jack, his best friend, truly played the role of Uncle to me and my brothers. He was a

Paranormal Eyewitness – A New Series of Terrifying Kindle Short Episodes

I have launched a series of Kindle short books as of yesterday. Each book will be 99cents (pence) and will be a short but focused collection of stories, experiences, and thoughts around certain supernatural phenomena. The idea is to build a library of Kindle shorts through 2017 all under the collective Paranormal Eyewitness brand. The first book – Episode 1 – was released yesterday with a focus on Black Eyed People. About Paranormal Eyewitness Episode 1 – The Black Eyed Demons Are Coming Black-eyed children are an urban legend of paranormal creatures that resemble children between the ages of 6 and 20, with pale skin and black eyes, they are reportedly seen hitchhiking or panhandling, or are encountered on doorsteps of residential homes. The black eyed kids are a frightening

Fake News and The Fight For Reality

When I wrote The Last Observer, I never imagined that a real fight for reality would actually happen. However, inundated with information, we are subject to all sorts of reality creating content – some of it fake and much of it it twisted. Be aware that there is a battle going on for your mind and this battle isn’t what it seems. You see your mind is a powerful reality creating device and if someone can hijack your mind and get it working in a certain way, they can use you to create the reality that they want. The media and politicians, religious zealots, and others have always used this technique but today, the tools to do so are easy to obtain. We tend to surround ourselves with reality reinforcing

Come Down

Come Down is a lovely melodic track with a theme on the guitar. The Sun is out today Shining like the star that it is Even I could never say That my life is wasting away Come down to me Be the person you aim to be Come down to me Let me touch Let me see The Moon is in the sky Reflecting the light of life I look and I stare But in the end I’m not sure I care You are the Sun, the Moon You are the stars that shine You are the one who came to stay Never to leave me anyway

Saying No

Many of the people that I am attracted to are people who know how to say No. You see, I don’t. My biggest issue in life is wanting to me loved. Wanting to be wanted. I don’t know where this came from – certainly not my childhood as I was both loved and wanted. I was, it seems, simply born this way. I am therefore, a giver. I give and I give and I give. I avoid conflict whenever possible and I keep on giving and saying yes until I am simply taken for granted and abused. Someone in my past once told me that I don’t love myself. I’m not sure about that but certainly, I have a deep seated sense of insecurity. The funny thing is however, that
