Wizards Book – The Winning Cover!!!

Recently, I asked everyone to help me chose the cover for my forthcoming Kindle book about real magicians through the ages and their strange feats of magic, alchemy and sorcery. The book will be called “Wizards, Warlocks and Magicians: Incredible True Stories of Magic and Sorcery”. The book will be released sometime next week…… Anyway, thanks for the great response to helping me chose that cover. The choice was between this cover idea and this cover idea… It is interesting to me just how divergent opinions were and to some extent that justifies my own inability to decide. However, in counting all the responses on Facebook and this site, the result is in. Here is the cover that 2/3rds of you voted for…. When it comes to Kindle books, I

Coming Soon – The Mystical Hexagram – 2nd Edition

I am very pleased to be able to say that there will be a 2nd Edition in the coming weeks of The Mystical Hexagram by Sue Vincent and myself. It will feature an all new cover, some additional content, some edits to the original content and will appear on the Asteroth’s Books publisher marque. The Mystical Hexagram is something of a ‘received’ text in part as much of the content came through meditation on the hexagram over a period of several years. It also features a set of exercises that are based on that received material to provide readers with a feel for the symbol themselves. The original edition of the book has received good reviews and feedback so we do hope the new edition will be equally well though

Imagination and Imagining Our Way Through Life

Imagination these days is undervalued. Kids no longer really need to exercise their imaginative faculties as it’s all laid on a plate for them in video games, movies that leave nothing to the imagination and TV. Yes, we had movies and TV growing up to but they still needed the support of an imagination. Our TV was in black and white until I was in my early teens and so you had to fill in the missing details for yourself. Special effects were pretty naff too and required imagination. Rather than play video games, I read books – a powerful tool to enhance your imagination. The human race is essentially being gently but surely relieved of its need for an imagination. I wonder if there is a motive behind this?

My Haunted Life Extreme Edition Paperback

Not an hour ago the doorbell rang as the post person delivered my personal copy of My Haunted Life – Extreme Edition. I have to say that it is a solid book with reasonable girth running to 199 pages. The cover looks good too. It is a compilation of the three Kindle books – My Haunted Life, My Haunted Life Too and My Haunted Life 3 along with two, previously unpublished stories included at the end. In short, for the asking price, I think its high-value. While My Haunted Life Too, in particular, continues to sell like hot cakes and is almost a constant presence in the UK Amazon top 10,the paperback hasn’t sold very well at all. Yes, the paperback is a little more expensive than buying all three

Responsibility

As an esotericist, I have come to the conclusion that I am responsible for myself. I have half an idea that for many new agers and the like, this statement is akin to saying I am a satanist, but I stand by my statement none the less. We all create our reality – this place we live in. We create it in the way that we see things and how we act. Thoughts are things and they manifest as reality. Only I can create my reality therefore I am responsible for my thoughts and what they create. As a self responsible co-creator of this reality we live in, I must strive to improve myself. I don’t mean make more money or buy a bigger house. No, I mean improve myself

Wizards Book – Help Me Choose The Cover

Right. I have two cover ideas that I like and I cannot decide between them So, I am asking you to help me pick one. The book is called ‘Wizards, Warlocks And Magicians: Incredible True Stories of Magic and Sorcery‘ It tells the story of several real life magicians and their bizarre stories. People like Agrippa, Apollonius, Nicholas Flamel, Austin Osman Spare and many more….. Here are the first paragraphs of the first 3 chapters.. + + + + + + + + + + + + + + These days the most famous wizard of them all is likely to be Harry Potter. Harry is, of course, fictional and for many people, wizards and warlocks are also just things of fiction. But what if I told you that I

The Kindle Cover Decision

As you might have read already, I will shortly release a new Kindle book called ‘Wizards, Warlocks And Magicians: Incredible True Stories of Magic and Sorcery‘. The MS is with the editor and should be finalized next week along with a cover. The cover though is always quite a decision. This will be a Kindle only book as there will not be a paperback version and that actually makes the decision on a cover a bit harder. With a paperback, you can pick it up, look at front and back and so on and make a decision whereas, with a Kindle book, it’s all about the cover initially as that is all you can see. Yes, you can look at a few pages as well but sometimes that ends up

The Apparition

A sample story from My Haunted Life 3 – available all of this week on Kindle for 99 cents. Growing up, I was in the local Church of England Choir. It wasn’t so much that I was religious, but I did love to sing. The weekly schedule was a practice one night per week and then both morning and evening services on Sunday. It was paid work too, but the regular pay was paltry – just a few pence per quarter of a year. No, the big-ticket item was a wedding for which you might get as much as 50p! Most weddings were held at the more picturesque parish church in a nearby village. This church was an old village church dating back to Norman times with it’s own cemetery

A Sales Miracle as ‘Ghost Tales from Hell’ Creates Pandemonium

Overnight to my utter amazement, my new book “Ghost Tales from Hell” sold just over 2,500 copies and seems destined to seal my career as a writer of cheap Kindle thrill books. As I write, the book has reached No 1 in every amazon category available to it. Ghost Tails from Hell tells the sordid stories of several famous old magicians and their attempts to raise the dead and communicate with evil spirits and is said to be so frightening and scary that Amazon are considering restricting its availability to the over 18’s only and adding a mental health warning to it’s appallingly scary cover. I am already consulting with my lawyer to see if I am liable for the mental anguish the book has created in certain quarters. Meanwhile,
