I’m very pleased to announce that days after its release, Paranormal Eyewitness has gone to #1 on the supernatural category on Amazon UK. Note that Your Haunted Lives is at #5 too…. Thanks everyone!

Paranormal Eyewitness – A New Series of Terrifying Kindle Short Episodes

I have launched a series of Kindle short books as of yesterday. Each book will be 99cents (pence) and will be a short but focused collection of stories, experiences, and thoughts around certain supernatural phenomena. The idea is to build a library of Kindle shorts through 2017 all under the collective Paranormal Eyewitness brand. The first book – Episode 1 – was released yesterday with a focus on Black Eyed People. About Paranormal Eyewitness Episode 1 – The Black Eyed Demons Are Coming Black-eyed children are an urban legend of paranormal creatures that resemble children between the ages of 6 and 20, with pale skin and black eyes, they are reportedly seen hitchhiking or panhandling, or are encountered on doorsteps of residential homes. Out Soon – Your Haunted Lives 3 – The Black Eyed Kids

Sometime later this week, my latest book will be released on Kindle and available at all Amazon sites. Here is the description to whet your appetites… There is a knock at the door late at night. You answer it to find two small children standing there. You are filled with a sudden but inexplicable fear. “Let us in,” they say. “We need to use the phone.” It is at that point that the fear turns to utter dread as you see that these kids have completely black eyes…… Your Haunted Lives 3 – The Black Eyed Kids, is an exploration of this terrifying phenomenon using true stories of encounters with Black Eyed kids (BEK) submitted to the My Haunted Life Too website. G. Michael Vasey examines the evidence and investigates

Fake Reviews

Reviews, I often say, are important. I encourage reviews – even bad ones. However…. Yesterday, I happened to be on amazon and noticed a new review for my latest little ghost story book. Two stars and the text ‘Rubbish’. Yes – that was it. I clicked on the reviewers id and discovered that in one day the ‘reviewer’ had reviewed tens of Kindle books in the supernatural category. Several of mine and many of other authors in the genre. There was an intriguing pattern too. Book upon book by me and others all given one or two star reviews with a single comment – Rubbish. However, one author in the genre was the exception. All of his books were 5-star and marked excellent. Some, but not all, were also ‘verified

Don’t Quit Your Day Job

The book writing business is one of those where a very small proportion of authors make any money. The rest of us hope for pennies and must remember to stay focused on the day job if we are to eat. As of today, I have written some 27 odd books across a wide range of topics and my experience to date falls into several buckets as follows; Published by a publishing Company Some people prefer to be ‘properly’ published. I have several books that were properly published by a publisher and my experience is that for someone starting out, it simply doesn’t make much sense. Some publishers will ask you to help ‘pay’ for putting the book out and yes, I have done that. I will never recoup that investment. Others

The Pink Bus

The Pink Bus and Other strange Tales from LaLa Land actually got its start a long time ago. I wrote a short story right into this blog around Christmas 2014 called The Meaning of Christmas and thought I’d keep a copy in my desktop folder just in case. I went back to it a few times, tweaked it, edited it and so on but couldn’t really think how to build upon it. Then, as things do, a few weeks ago, I started writing short stories. They simply poured out of me one after the other and they all seemed to be themed around death, reincarnation, ghosts and supernatural activity and the meaning of life in general. That was when I saw where the Meaning of Christmas belonged…. I honestly think

Self-Publishing Pop

I’m not sure why I write books. It’s certainly not for the money! I guess I just enjoy the challenge of creating something, floating it by people and seeing if I can make a success of it! To me, putting out books has something of the flavor of the pop industry in the 70’s – you put out a single and watch it chart – or not – hoping to be #1 on the hit parade for a week or two all the while knowing that you are only getting a small pittance for the record. It is simply fun. Especially when combined with things that interest you. You see, I enjoy strange stories of the paranormal, I am interested in the occult, magic and the nature of reality –

What Is It I Am Not Seeing?

OK. I write books and in the last 12-months, I have actually had some success with it too. I have had a no. 1 supernatural best seller on Amazon UK and a no. 2 best seller in another category on Amazon. A few of my books were in the top 20 in the supernatural category for almost 6-months and even now are routinely in the top 100. I have sold around 4000 books this year to date. I have learned a lot during this process. But. Can anyone tell me why when I take three Kindle shorts and put them all in one book add a couple more stories to it to total over 50 true scary and bewildering tales of the paranormal and then price it on Kindle less
