Mapping The Špilbirk Serpents

Tonight, I was able to get out and continue mapping the energy lines at Brno Castle – Špilberk. I managed to sort out a few things – one of which was to confirm that there are three lines not two – three dragons! The interesting and confusing thing had been that two are parallel and run pretty close together and this had me confused as I was initially seeing it as one line when in fact, it was two. What intrigues me is that these two lines actually seem to go around the castle while the third which crosses goes through it. The northern of the two NW-SE lines also literally goes straight through the front door of an Orthodox church built in the early 1900s called St. Wenceslas and

The Castle at Dusk

In recent weeks, I find that being outdoors in nature is where I want to be. The sound of bird’s singing, the bats flying around, the trees… I find it all so intoxicatingly beautiful. The feeling it gives me is indescribable and yet, I am greedy for more. My favorite time is dusk and so I will slip out and take the 2km walk around the castle. I even have a favorite tree – a huge conker tree – that I will stop, touch and talk with for a while. I ask my tree some questions and tell it my troubles – whatever they are. Trees are such good listeners! Last night, it was truly magnificent timing as the Sun began to set. The sky was streaked with all colors

Chasing the Shaman – A New Book

Sometimes, things just come together. In the last week, I had an idea for a book. I wanted to write about magic like Sue Vincent and Stuart France or perhaps Alan Richardson does but in my own style. As some of you may know, I have been on the trail of a shaman here in Brno and it struck me that his activity – in my reality – was a piece of a chain of events that were truly magical and worth writing about. I assembled the book from various blog posts, correspondences with Sue Vincent, poems and of course a lot of new content and what emerged surprised even me. Back in late 2005, I got Inner Journeys: Explorations of the Soul published and it told the story of

Hey Mr. Shaman

Hey Mr. Shaman What is it that you do? The signs that you leave What is their meaning? Are you welcoming spring And letting the year begin? Pebble patterns all around The silent drum beat In surround sound What is the meaning? What is your intent? Neighborhood shaman Shadowy magic maker Operating in plain site Yet no one notices your Pebbles and tobacco No one questions What it is you do Except me And Im curious You see

Spring is on its way

Every day I walk the dog or myself around Špilbirk Castle. Im very fortunate to live just underneath it – at least for now. When my own place is ready, I will move away from it. I always feel liberated and rejuvenated up on the hill. It is often breezy and the views of the city and surrounding countryside are stunning. Today was no exception. Today, though, I noticed for the first time that spring is arriving. Small blooms of orange, purple and white have appeared as if overnight. It makes one feel joyous somehow to see these small beautiful colorful flowers!           Combined with the views, it made for an uplifting experience ad once again, I felt that connection to the land and to Živa

Fun Mapping energy Lines

I’m busy in my spare time at the moment mapping energy lines on Špilberk Castle. This is the Castle above my apartment that I have written about before. I took my rods out and walked around the Castle one day last week.   Initially, I was trying to use Google maps and failed miserably.  Then I discovered that there is an app for that!! Really! It’s called Dowsing Mapper it is available for the iPhone and Android. It even has its own webpage and youtube video use instructions. It doesn’t take long to learn to use and is actually very easy to work with. I was amazed that such an app existed to be honest but I expect to be using it a lot from now on. Using GPS and

Living Under the Castle

Right now, I am renting a nice apartment just outside of the city center literally on the side of the hill that is topped by Spilberk Castle. The Castle is set atop its own grounds and I often walk alone or with my daughter’s dog around the castle in meditation. Despite trying to research this geological and topographical feature, I have found little beyond the standard blurb about the Castle. The castle was founded around the mid-13th century on a low (290 m), but relatively steep rocky hill, towering just above the historic city center (about 220 m). His master builder, Czech King Přemysl Otakar II, was generously conceived not only as a solid support of the ruling power, but also as a dignified seat of the rulers of Moravia. The

Rainbows and Rosa Coeli

What to do on Boxing Day? Take a trip to Dolní Kounice to see the Convent ruins of Rosa Coeli and feel the energies there? Yes! It wouldn’t be open I knew but we could still take a peek so off we went to the Jihlava valley south of Brno to visit the Rosa Ceoli Convent.     It was a beautiful but very cold day when we arrived. The Convent was closed and won’t be open it seems until April which was not unexpected but a tad disappointing. The Convent ruins are remarkably intact and you can pretty much walk around the outside of it – which is what we did – detecting some energies in one direction that will be investigated further another day. The convent stands under

More Moravian Dragons…

I am posting these as much for me at this point – to have them stored some place for future reference….. Often, the article is translated by Google which is why it sounds a bit odd but Google still translates Czech better than I! The Nakla Dragon There are many legends linked to Nákl, one of which mentions a dragon. between Nákl and Mezice. In the hillside there was a “Deep Pit” caused by rumors of weather: In a hillside stretching from Nákl to Mezice, a deep pit opened once after a storm and rain. Strange remains of an unknown creature were found here. People thought it was a dragon’s skeleton. However, there was another landslide and thus the gorge was covered. It is said that there were more dragon skeletons in the pit. the second

Chasing Moravian Dragons

In following the activities of Sue Vincent and Stuart France across the landscapes of the UK – start with The Initiate which is a great read and will give you an idea of what they are up to – I was also pointed by Sue to the author Paul Broadhurst and just completed his book on the Green Man. Having read that book, I now also get a bit more of what Sue and Stu are onto in the UK and having just come back from a weekend of magic with them and others in Whitby, it got me to thinking…… what about here? Here being Brno in the Czech Republic. Well, the first thing that struck me is that Brno is symbolized in part by a dragon. The dragon
